  1. Did you at any time have the battery disconnected for a while before you checked the code. No battery will clear your codes and stop the check engine light until you drive it again for a while. Computer has to relearn what's messed up Linda S
  2. Code readers are for OBD2. Not your vehicle. You simply count the flashes on the dash after you jump the connectors in the engine bay. Read the instructions Dan posted in the pdf file Linda S
  3. If you would ever consider doing another one please let me know. I will make it worth your time Linda S
  4. Most diesel RV's have propane generators. All those Sprinter based ones for example. Not new and widely used Linda S
  5. I got used to them. They do improve handling too. They certainly would never make a rig feel like it was bottoming out. Linda S
  6. I think it's a good start for a project. Front overhang isn't sagging or drooping in the middle. Might be better than you think Linda S
  7. Ratio doesn't really have anything to do with lining up. No full float will line up with your rig. You have to have new spring perched and shop mounts welded onto make it fit. Not a quick switch. Linda S
  8. I keep my front tires at 55 and my rear at 60. You need to remember it's a truck. Not supposed to ride like a Cadillac Linda S
  9. If it only happens on a turn it's the steering stops. Parts places even call them groan stoppers https://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/WC/8116-01066171.html?utm_content=YN&utm_term=1985-1995+Toyota+Pickup+Groan+Stopper+Bolt+Cover+Genuine+W0133-1639958+85-95+Toyota+Groan+Stopper+Bolt+Cover+1990+1994&fp=pp&gbm=a&utm_source=google&utm_medium=ff&utm_campaign=PartsGeek+Google+Base&gclid=Cj0KCQjwsMDeBRDMARIsAKrOP7HVciwW8bSHNftizCbctzSbWdr_Dz-QxK-o-ZLDzEvCUKF6fjtrpOkaAuYnEALw_wcB&ad=47433949212 Linda S
  10. Look at the leaf spring bushings. They can make it ride hard if bad. Other than that shocks or maybe the leaf springs themselves. Do they still have a nice curve? Extreme low air in the air bags puts all the weight of the camper on the springs. Add some air to those bags. I wouldn't put mine lower than 50. Linda S
  11. here's a couple of places that might have one. make sure you ask if they have the wheels. You need those too Joe's Auto Parts USA-VA(Carrollton) Request_Quote 1-757-238-2240 / 1-800-238-4992 Request_Insurance_Quote 66 1990 Rear Axle Assembly Toyota Truck 3.0L,AT N0603 $Call American Auto Salvage USA-VA(Woodbridge) Request_Quote 703-494-7184 / 540-825-2571 Request_Insurance_Quote
  12. Kind of wondering if your going to have room for huge tires in the front. Drivability. There are 15 inch. Sprinter duallys. Same bolt pattern. I posted about them here few years ago as possible option. Linda S
  13. That camper doesn't appear to have jacks on it but they can be installed. To remove you just jack it up and release the tie downs and drive it out. The campers are pretty rare. There just happens to be one in southern Cal on ebay right now https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sunrader-Cabover-Slide-In-Camper/163324347569?hash=item2606e3c4b1:g:~0wAAOSwX8dbxolm:rk:2:pf:1&frcectupt=true Just need a 4x4 long bed Toyota truck to put it on Linda S
  14. Right here in general is good. Your going to be covering a wide range of issues and easier for people to find one long thread. Bajadulce did it with his build thread and there over 250 posts on it. His is in general too Linda S
  15. Well it looks like it can be done but you left out pics of the biggy. Rear axle, is it 6 lug or 5. The 5 lug was recalled many years ago but lots of campers still have them. let us know Linda S
  16. All it takes is about 15 years and owning one. Something always needs repair and you'd better be able to find it. Linda S
  17. With a manual trannie I think you can expect to do 15 or better if you stay under 60. Ya don't have to drive 45 to get good mileage. Linda S
  18. Wow look what I found. One of the Sprint's that I mentioned. Still looks like it has old axle so price is too high https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/rvs/d/toyota-sprint-8500-obo/6721995612.html Linda S
  19. Truckfridge? What do you mean by this. There is a website called Truckfridge but the refrigerators take up almost the same space as a Dolphin one. I had a friend who bought one from them and he picked one that was exactly the same size as his Dometic. How many rigs have you inspected yet or have you just looked at them online. There isn't a lot of room in any of them to start moving stuff around. They all already have some kind of closet and drawers for storage. Food is more important to me than extra stuff. Linda S
  20. There is a link here for the part. it didn't quite fit for some reason even though his Chinook had the same size holes as a Sunrader but he shows you how to fix it and still use them. Back then they were 1.35 though and now they are over 5 bucks each. Kind of a lot to have to jury rig them to fit http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?/topic/5696-toyota-chinook-weep-holes-for-side-windows/ Linda S
  21. The non fiberglass ones were just called New Horizons. All Nova Star's are fiberglass. Yeah I remember that Jeep. Thanks for reminding me. There were 2. One in Nevada and the other in Portland. I think they were factory too. Maybe prototypes that never went into production or custom orders. Wonder where they are now. Linda S
  22. Nova Star's were made from 1986 to 1989. I heard years ago there was at least one made with a V6 engine but I have never seen it. Most 89's were built on 88 chassis and there aren't many of them either. Company went out of business in 89. You will see some rigs that look exactly like a Nova Star that are older. They were made by General RV which made the Odyssey. They were called Sprint. 1983 to 1985. They must have sold the molds to New Horizon which is Nova Star Linda S
  23. Other Sunrader alternatives are the Nova Star and the Odyssey Americana. Unfortunately they are more rare than Sunraders. Linda S
