  1. a solar panel could be used to keep your batteries charged
  2. running the engine will charge the batteries, but is slow. better to plug it in
  3. um. supporting the axle by the brake drum is looking for trouble. brake drums warp quite easily
  4. i used a multi tool with the round wood blade. a couple passes and it separates easily. even took it to homi d's to make the sheets small enough to fit in my vehicle
  5. i bet this tire is 3 inch larger in diameter than the ones on the mh now.
  6. i think it doesnt look bad. not done yet.decided to eliminate the sink. anyone want it?
  7. someone else posted about fixing access to the spare tire. my p.o. apparently didn't think the spare was needed, so leveling jacks were added which blocked access to the spare winch. i finally got the spare out, and low and behold it's the origional. date code 83 . never been on the ground. i took a little different approach and added a u-joint so i could aim the shaft downwards. added a 3/4 nut to the end, and now i can lower the tire and the drive doesn;t show just like the leveling jacks
  8. so i just need one of these clips, but searching for it is beating me. any help? 84 dolphin dometic awning
  9. yep. it's hardboard. scratch it and the board will suck up water
  10. removing fluid fro an old mastercylinder can dislodge crud that can then foul the seals. best to never put anything but fluid in a master cylinder
  11. frp in the shower is to keep the water out of the wall. on you exterior walls the siding is to keep the water out. if the siding leaks there will be evidence inside. if your insides are waterproof and the siding leaks--how do you know, and how can it dry out
  12. both are plywood. door skins are thinner. replacing the wall coverings with something waterproof will just contain the moisture inside the wall. then you won't know about the leak untill it is a major prob. wood can get wet and not have a problem. it's when it stays wet long that causes the rot
  13. consider frp is kind of heavy, and needs special adhesive. most of the interior surfaces are luan plywood. if you need thinner material you can use door skins.
  14. no way to tell on the water damage untill you get in there
  15. easier than words. these are most of what i have needed. the painters tool on the left has been really handy
  16. i'm now working on my last window seal job. 13 of them on my dolphin. the sealing is on the outside and the glass it'self, so the paneling has no effect other than providing thickness. it is a long process to do the seal job. i think your first estimate is good (if it's done right). the hump by the door is a step to get above the cab. most of the work to be done is simple enough, tedious though.
  17. used to be able to get all the parts individualy. havent done this stuff for a while
  18. p.s. if tapping it with a hammer makes it work, the brushed are worn out. also an easy fix. never try this on your new car with a pm starter. it will crack the magnets cutting their power in half
  19. i've found some you can flip the disc over and use the other side. twice the staying power
  20. i have to say that plastic razor blades rock. a little wd and some elbow. no scratching the paint
