fred heath
Bet you haven't seen this modification. ? http://www.reachoo.com/ads/106801059
86rader
Sorry Fred, you lose that bet. That pic has been floating around the toyhouse fb page for a few months, at least. Cool as hell, isn't it? And I bet it does very well with the slant 6 drive train. I had an '85 D150 with that drivetrain. Pretty sure it was the last year of it. That thing ran like new. I did carry a few loads that were likely made it near as heavy as a toyhouse and it did fine. This mod appears to have been done well, although I would really like to see a pic of its belly. Derek up North
I've never seen that same picture (even on the FB page), but I have seen pictures (different view) of a Sunrader/Aspen for sale. So maybe there are more than one, though unlikely. http://barnfinds.com/sunrader-mopar-style-1979-dodge-aspen-camper/ It looks like someone bought it for $2900 (or less) and is trying to resell it for $5500 (or less). Derek up North
Here's an earlier sighting. http://vintagecarsblogbyrandomncarr.blogspot.ca/2014/01/factory-aspenvolare-motorhome-found.html I have a few doubts about it being 'Factory'. Derek up North
As a TEST of the search function using 'Sunrader Aspen', FB (not surprisingly) gave Zero results, Yahoo Group gave Zero results and here:- We win!!
linda s
There's a pic of this on one of my other sites posted by a member June 26, 2014. Linda S
Derek up North
That's the same one, spotted again. Same 'custom' grill and howling wolf license plate. I wonder if the '1 ton floating' axle mentioned in the ad is a Toyota 1-Ton FF?
linda s
Just checked and the Aspen had a 61 inch wide rear axle so it's very possible they switched it out for a Toyota but the conversion must have been done years after this camper shell and car were made for the full float Linda S
