jjrbus
I ordered a replacement radiator, took it out of the box to compare it for fit. It has aluminum core and plastic tanks. It appears to be a good fit compared to the old one. Sunbelt SBR 1190 But it appears to be a single core radiator. the core being very thin approximately 1 1/2" Is this OK for my 93 V6 auto?? Derek up North
Their website describes the SBR-1190 as being "3 ROW". http://sunbeltradiators.com/rlookup/partlist/Toyota/Pickup/1992/3.0L/Radiator
jjrbus
Thanks for the quick response!! When I look into the radiator I only see 1 row? Left click on photo for larger image Hard to get a good picture, maybe this is the new math or its a 3 row rated?? Jim SW FL
Derek up North
Good luck with it. http://reviews.birdeye.com/sunbelt-radiators-inc-835447680 I've never heard of Sunbelt. I know that Spectra Premium is sold by many outlets as well as to OEM. http://www.amazon.com/Spectra-Premium-CU945-Complete-Radiator/dp/B000C7S5K8/ref=pd_sim_sbs_263_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=1SC403ZD4EHZWBEDXVJD
WME
Aluminum is stronger than brass, so they can make the tubes wider. So maybe 3 row rated isn't to far off. Normal brass tubes are around 1/2" wide. Look through the fins with a light and see how wide the tubes are.
jjrbus
Thanks for the responses. I did some reading and looking at both radiators the aluminum has as much if not more cooling surface then the factory one. I do find the 3 core description to be deceptive. Thanks Jim SW FL
Derek up North
Can't say I've ever come across the term '3 row rated' before.
