Radiator cap

Hi

am looking for a new radiator cap for v6 dolphin. got a toyota part number 16401-63010. This does not have the same measurments as my rad cap now. gates (RC 128) have a rad cap with right diamensions but wrong rating 1.1 instead of 0.9. A 20% increase in pressure is alot on an engine with a known head gasket. a part number or make of car that will fit.

In case you're wondering, those are in 'Bars'. Unfortunately, a unit of measure rarely used in the Colonies! Of course they could be in Atmospheres or kgf/cm2.

According to a toyota dealer site this radiator cap fits just about every toyota made since 1982. It also fits the corolla listed here so even though they say it won't fit it should.

My Subaru says 1.1, which is 15.9 PSI, Ford says 16 PSI. I seem to think my old Dodge was 15 PSI.

Hi

im sure i posted answer to this thread. i finally located a rad cap. Same as a n/a supra which is different to 99% of toyotas. no part number as i ordered it from a rad specialist by dimensions. Nice feel solid feel to it with a thick sealing gasket.
