retiredron
Anyone know of later engines with more power that will fit in the '76 Chinook? Or, a good source for rebuilt engines or trannys?
stamar
the easiest one is the 22r. bolts right to the transmission.
Rusker
Like Stamar said the easiest swap is to drop in a 22r in place of the 20r. If you're looking for more power there is things you can do to the 22r to boost the hp like a cam, etc. Another option is to do a 20r/22r hybrid. This would be a 20r head, on a 22r block. WME
As metioned a 22r would be a bolt in and HP would go from 97 to 108, If computer and rewiring don't scare you then the 22RE is 112 hp and the big dog 3rz is 150 hp
