Viking66
Anyone know how heavy a guy can be and still go on the roof of a Sunrader? I am 250#, and want to get a good clean up there, and check the AC unit. Thanks.
Lee & Joan
One trick I have used when unsure of weight support, I have used this on fiberglass greenhouse roofing. get a very stiff piece of plywood, perhaps cushion it with a rug against the fiberglass roof. Then you can stand on that and it spreads your weight over a much larger area than your foot does. Much like a showshoe. I have two smaller ones so I can work kneeling on one and move the other one over to the next area. Also when I have not had the plywood I have just spread my weight out by laying down on my belly and kind of scooting around spreading my weight on my legs, arms & belly. I have crawled around on some pretty thin stuff that way. Picture thin ice or quicksand, get the weight off the feet an spread over the larger body area and you don't break the ice or sink in the quicksand. Gulfstream Greg
Sunrader roofs are 3/4 inch plywood with fiberglass on top so they can support your weight no problem. I am plus that by a bit and never worried about our SR roof when on top. I would crawl around but I only say that because walking can cause the rig to do some rockin and throw you off balance, you can fill in the blanks. 86rader
I am about 20 pounds under that and have put miles on the roof of my sunrader. My roof is as solid as a rock. I do suggest that you go bare foot or socks or slippers though. That is what i usually do. I guess clean soled sneakers would be OK though.
