  1. A Sunrader I used to own recently burned to the ground. I kept in touch with the man who bought it and he told me of the tragedy. He loved it as much as i did. I feel real bad for him, I think he was practically living in it.
  2. Maybe the guy who is parting out an old Toyota MH has one. Here is the link to the forum threat with the craigslisting in it. Never Know??? http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=3924
  3. I yanked out the entire Kitchen area today. Found soaked carpet, a Water heater tank that is rusted through. I got all of that out, and now it has 100 pounds less of that musty smell these old campers get. I have no idea how I am going to re-do the Kitchen part, but one will just pop into my head one of these days....LOL
  4. I had a Great day getting the new wall installed. A good friend stopped by and gave me a hand in getting the job done. It came out Awesome!!! The Luan wood and the Golden Oak color matches really well. At first I was not to sure when looking at it outside of the coach, but once inside and installed it is a very close match. I will get a pic up tomorrow after my camera battery charges.
  5. Well last weekend I decided to finally rip out the bad wall. It was really not to bad getting it all out, so that is done. I went to a big box store and picked up some Luan paneling. One side has a reddish colored wood and the other a more wood grained light in color, so that's the side I am using. I bought some Golden Oak color stain with the poly built in, I found that is the closest in color to the original I could find. I have 3 coats on it, and it came out pretty good! So tomorrow in goes the new wall, should be fun!!! Next is the flooring, and then getting the shell polished up. As I have said before, I am having a lot of fun messing with this old girl ;-)
  6. Not mine, just throwing this up in case anyone is interested. http://neworleans.craigslist.org/rvs/2402892323.html
  7. I am looking at the Coleman Mach III PS 13500 BTU. I has the heat strip option which is about $35.00 depending on who you buy it from. I suffered significant damage to the fins, and cover on the unit from a recent freak hail storm (15 years since the last one like it), and it does not produce any cooling, so I decided to change it out to new rather than have it repaired. I found that the cost to repair is a little over half for new so I am going in that direction.
  8. I am going to change out my AC and was just looking at all of the options. My Heater works great after I put a new board on it, so maybe just a regular roof AC will be just fine. Thanks for the input!!!
  9. Worth it? Which do you all think is better?
  10. Went by to price a Coleman locally, about $100.00 more than I can get one off of the internet, and they don't match pricing I did find out that my 3.0 Onan will fun it just fine though, so at least something good came out of the trip!~
  11. Hi all! Been thinking of whether to replace or get my old Roof AC fixed. We had a bad hail storm here and the fins got whacked pretty bad, so I am leaning towards replacement. I have been looking at the Coleman Mach III Power Saver units, but not sure if this would be a good choice for my Sunrader. I want to be able to use it with Generator power. I have a working Onan 3.0 in my rig right now. My genset powers up the Dometic I have fine, but my AC is low on Freon and it's about half the price of a new one to have it serviced, plus the fin issue. I am open to recommendations. I want to be able to work on things in the interior this summer and not die from heat stroke.....LOL I will be running it on house power while fixing things, but eventually may have to use my Genset if I am out camping. Please advise. Thom

  13. Easy enough to do, or I can put a cool chrome tip on it!! The kind that has an inner and outer tube ;-)
  14. I was thinking the same thing about it being cooled down by the time it got there. You just never know with these Toys, read some horror stories over the strangest things.
  15. Well I went ahead and had a Cat back exhaust put on for $175.00 The muffler was in the wrong place and was hanging down, so I had him move it and add a tail pipe made to exhaust out behind the rear tire. The tail pipe is about 1 1/2" below my BWT, any reason to make a heat shield?
  16. I think our box stores have the 1/4" paneling. If I can find a stain that is at least close I think I may go that way. Thom
  17. Yes, $400.00 is CRAZY!!!!!! Still looking and trying to decide. Thom
  18. Have you checked craigslist for someone parting out an old RV? I have a Onan 3.0 in the box on mine. Maybe you can get lucky like that and it would be designed to work on an RV. I am no Genset mechanic, but got mine to work real good. Not sure how long it sat but got a lot of help from here Http://smokestak.com they have a huge forum on Gensets, and tons of knowledgeable people. Thom
  19. Hey all!!! I have come to a standstill on my Sunrader. Why you ask?? I have been looking for some paneling that I need for replacing some that is water damaged. I have called a few supply places but by the time you pay for the paneling, the crate, and then freight it comes close to $400.00 and that's just for 2 sheets. I want the inside to look nice, and not hokey by slapping up some Box stroe paneling. I hate to paint!!!!! I only have one wall to do, and a lot of that is taken up by a window and the couch. Any ideas on what I could put up in that spot would be really cool. Thanks in advance. Thom
  20. Hi All!! been awhile since I have posted. Now that mardi Gras season is over, time to get back to work. I was hoping someone could give me some insight on removing an upper cabinet. I am refering to the one where the Tank Gauge panel is. On my Sunrader this is above the couch. I need to remove this cabinet, so once I find the paneling, I will be able to put it in. I have looked and I can see where some of the screws are that are holing it on, but I am thinking there are some hidden that hold it on near the bottom against the coach wall. Any help would be great!!!
  21. Yep, ready to take the Mini on!!!!! LOL It does handle a lot better. It is amazing what new rubber, or polyurathane in the right places will do for the ride!
  22. I finally got the correct parts for the front Sway Bar, so I put those in yesterday. Pretty straight forward job, the only thing I ran into was that I needed to use some washers on the D bushing brackets. The Toyota brackets have just a hole, so the head of the bolt fits fine, the brackets I used had a slot and the head was not laying right until I used a washer.
  23. I have been working on my Bathroom. I ended up re-doing it because I already had the BWT out, and had to remove the other plumbing so why not. I used tile board for the walls. I found out really quick that I am terrible at trimming in, so I am going to talk my Master carpenter friend into doing it for me....LOL All in all it came out pretty good. I used tile board that has lines in it, and I recommend against that if you re-do a Bathroom. It took extra materials to make sure everything lined up. I think I have about $150.00 in the job so far. I will more than likely have to buy some beer for my friend, so there goes another $20.00 I will get some pics up once the trim is complete.
