Hi

I plan on having timing chain replaced in my 85 yoda. 5 years ago I replaced engine with newer 22re. Are all 22re the same or should i look on engine for VIN to give dealer for exact parts. Timing chain, tensioner, valve cover gasket...? Dealer is not doing work. If so wheres VIN located?

Same chain kit 85 to 94 be sure you get the kit with the rubber coated metal guides. Most of the better kits come with all the parts gaskets, seals, guides, chain and gears.

Remove the cam cover and look at the chain. If it is 2 row then you have an early short block 22R, if it is a single row then you have a late model tall block. In any case the short block engines all use the same timing kit and the tall blocks all use the same kit.
