abbiemax
need to replace heater core on '87, found good info on youtube but that was for system with no AC, mine has AC so anyone have extra info I will need?
linda s
I don't think you have to make any changes. AC and heater are just hooked up to the same blower. Your inside switch that turns the AC on is what determines where the air coming through that blower comes from. Linda S
extech
the air comes from the blower ,through the ac, then through the heater. it's possible to have both on at the same time. i don't remember if the ac separates from the heater box. i know the cables are a pain. the heat part is in the center, and the ac is next to the blower
abbiemax
does the blower come out first or the ac
extech
does your ac work? dont know if it has to come out, but blower would be first
linda s
You actually don't have to remove the blower but that's the only thing you can leave. The entire freaking dash needs to come out. linda s
If you watch the video of dismantling it you can see that a battery screw driver will not give you the correct access to all the hidden bolts and screws. Smaller rachet with multiple extensions seems to be what he uses and even those are a difficult reach for some of them. I certainly wouldn't want to have to do this job. Is your core leaking or just clogged. Linda S
