Hey folks, the title says it all.  There is a lot of play in my shift lever and a large gap between where the lever itself mounts.  It’s a little hard to explain but I believe the photo will give you an idea of what I speak of.

is this normal? Is there some kind of bushing that goes over the two bolts shown? Did someone maybe just replace them with some bolts that are too long?  Any insight is appreciated as I am unsure how this should normally be.  Would putting shorter bolts in so it can sit tight cause some sort of wear?  Thanks again!

This might help. If you have a direct shift transmission. Before you call them look on your VIN/ID build plate and see what transmission you have.
