My thermostat is occasionally sticking, so I'd like to replace it. Easy enough, except the bolts on the housing seem to be seized. Don't want to snap or strip them, any tips? Tried searching past threads but didn't find anything. 1985 Sunrader,  4cyl 22RE. Thanks!

I have only read about this and not tried it,  I have it securely tucked away in my memory for the next time I have an issue.  For those of us without a torch set might be worth a try?

If you do try it please let us know how it works.

Interesting , if my normal penetrating oil attempts fail I'll see if I can find some of this and try it. Thanks for the lead

After you finally get things apart, remember to use anti seize on any bolt going into aluminum. Including sparkplugs
