I have a 90 Sunrader shorty with airbags at 40psi ... my ride is very stiff I feel every imperfection like it’s bottoming out ... what can I do to improve this situation?  New shocks? Tire inflation ? Air bag inflation? Any suggestions appreciated

Look at the leaf spring bushings. They can make it ride hard if bad. Other than that shocks or maybe the leaf springs themselves. Do they still have a nice curve? Extreme low air in the air bags puts all the weight of the camper on the springs. Add some air to those bags. I wouldn't put mine lower than 50.

There is no proper or ideal pressure for air bags. One thing that bags are good at doing is isolating the rig from road vibrations.

The bags purpose are to level the Toy front to rear and side to side.  One bag can have higher or lower pressure than the other depending on condition of springs and load distribution.  Most bags should not be inflated below 20 psi nor above 90 psi.

I carry a compressor and at times use the bags to level when parked or fill to max when going off road for more clearance.

Do you know what kind of shocks you have,  someone complained about new brand name shocks causing a harsh ride.
