  1. not a clue really, except to say, have you tried a "test" in another vehicle ?, if both devices work, ( charges your cell phone, etc.) then you may have a defective device. if you would test the device, in say your automobile, ( no shore power) and all works, then could be just a defective charger unit. i am no expert, but shore power is just for ac power, all 12v power should be derived from on board 12v batteries, someone with superior knowledge may correct me if i am wrong. don't know if this is any help. good luck , joe from dover.
  2. thanks MAINEAH & WME, good suggestions, i really think there is not a problem, but your ideas will help to solve the mystery. joe from dover
  3. just my thoughts, living their life under a UHAUL rental, would the springs be in usable condition to warrant the time and effort for removal and purchase ? human nature being what it is, i doubt the load weight limits were observed on those UHAULS. they were probably overloaded more than not. joe from dover
  4. hey there, i too have noticed what you described on my 92 winnie warrior. immediately after start up, when i apply brake, it really is touchy as you said. but afterwards it is "normal" ! i just assumed it was quirk since i have no other issue regarding the brakes, and hear no noises or anything that may be cause for alarm. possibly someone can solve this mystery ? joe from dover
  5. hey there, sometimes you just have to pay the cost. this shop may have been "PRICEY", but there is a reason they have been in the same business for all those years, they may not be the cheapest, but i would assume from your post that they stand 100% behind their work. your toya MH, should not have spring issues for at least another 30 years knowing that, may help take the sting out of the price a little. good luck. joe from dover.
  6. I am fairly certain this is the same bogus ad that has been floating around on CL for almost a year. i have seen the same ad, same pictures, listed in many different cities on CL. it is a scam as far as i can tell. joe from dover.
  7. DON'T even think of using "treated" ply. joe from dover
  8. thanks for the explanation, and additional info. to me this is well worth consideration. joe from dover
  9. REDSKINMAN so if this $38.00 kit can increase HP by 3.3 and works on my V6, EFI, i would do that. is this a "complete" kit, or are there other parts required for install, also i am not expertly skilled in wrench turning, is this something i could do, or better left to a "mechanic" ? THANKS IN ADVANCE. JOE FROM DOVER
  10. what linda s said !!! joe from dover
  11. IN MY OPINION, class action law suits are cash cows for the attorneys filing the suit, and nothing more. the small amount of money that actually trickles down to the plaintiffs, is minuscule, and not worth my time to jump through all the hoops required to receive a check for $1.36 18 months later. and how do you think the companies recover the cost of the award, they raise their prices! joe from dover.
  12. i have seen a few that interest me on CL. last fall it seemed there were many that were really great deals, (end of season ?), i will keep looking til i find one. do you know what a "boston" valve is ? joe from dover
  13. there are many adhesive choices. really dependent upon application and materials you are bonding. some suggestions could be: heavy duty construction adhesive (liquid nails), gorilla glue, 2 part epoxy's, silicone adhesive, professional wood workers glue. for cleaning the fiberglass ? again, depending on what you are bonding the fiberglas to, if the bonding surface is smooth / shiny, you may want to "rough it up", maybe with a 3m scotch pad, or sand paper, to give the glue increased bonding strength. hope this helps. joe from dover.
  14. for all the reasons stated, i too began thinking of a boat. camping near water and being able to take full advantage seems like a win-win. i have been searching CL for a deal. i would prefer a boat that can carry two adults and some gear comfortably. the solid floor in the inflatables appears to be a no brainer. thanks for sharing your info. joe from dover
  15. you can use a moisture meter to find the moisture content of any piece of wood. joe from dover.
  16. ok, i stand corrected, treated probably NOT a good choice. i know several years ago the formula (chemicals) were changed in the process to produce "treated" lumber for the reasons of toxicity and health related issues due to exposure. have no proof that it is entirely harmless to ones health now, so not a good choice. joe from dover.
  17. i have found the same. great on flats, no so with inclines even small degrees of incline. joe from dover.
  18. you may need to get the dimensions from original after demo. not totally sure what "wood supports" you are referring to. some pics may help. type of wood? if structural support dimension lumber, i am just guessing the original was pine. if that is the case, pine replacements should work, or if you think treated is worth the extra cost (not much) then maybe use it. good luck with it. joe from dover
  19. you may want a "basin wrench" to tighten or loosen the fittings. it is a specialty wrench common with plumbers. lowes / home depot should stock them. joe from dover.
  20. got my senior pass in january. was a rumor that the price was going to increase significantly. you need to go to a park office in person with a photo ID to obtain your pass. not all parks issue passes. luckily the CUYAHOGA VALLEY NATIONAL PARK happens to be a park that issues the passes and is about an hour from where i live. the park ranger that we talked with was aware of the planned price increase, but had no idea of how much an increase or when it may take effect. i am happy to learn that the pass worked so well for mustrmrk--have yet to use mine. joe from dover.
  21. great idea !!! start them out young!! joe from dover.
  22. thanks for posting the proper link derek. i need to learn how to do that. i am the guy who can't pass the test to get a "smart" phone!! joe from dover
  23. looks really good. inside and out. a relatively easy and cost effective "fix" for a potential major issue. great work. joe from dover.
  24. well then, they would be the people to know about low bridges!!!! joe from dover
