  1. Since all the suggestions so far MIGHT not do well in the wet and cold and since this will be a 'static' display, how about hanging 2x3s over the sides attached to the roof rack? Just a thought!
  2. That chart and other similar and pretty coloured ones are floating all over the internet and all seem to originate from people trying to sell transmission coolers. No details of any test procedure, of course. If anyone can provide a source of independently conducted test, I'd like to read them. Well, maybe not read, but skim over them.
  3. Like I said, opinions will always vary. But I'd stop short of referring to most of them as 'ridiculous'. Without installing 2 temperature gauges, I won't GUESS if the pan oil is hotter than the oil exiting the transmission going to the cooler.
  4. Opinions obviously do (and always will) vary. Here's mine. Short of installing (somehow) a temperature pickup inside the transmission, the maximum temperature the ATF reaches is best measured where it leaves the transmission and before going through any cooler or filter. In the oil pan is where the ATF is coolest. Personally, I think most are interested in knowing the maximum temperature. But I could well be wrong. YOMV
  5. Somehow, I doubt your kit supplier would give instructions to drill the frame if it wasn't safe to do so. Too many hungry lawyer on your side of the border to risk it.
  6. If you add a space between 'B' & ')', you won't get !
  7. Major short -> smoke. See any smoke? My 'go to' first thing to do is to make sure you have good grounds.
  8. What would your mechanic charge to install a tank, be it Dorman, Spectra or good used? Marine Tex or JB Weld I'd call a temporary solution, not a 'Fix'. If they don't want your old leaking tank returned, lining/sealing it from the inside would be another option. Like:- http://www.por15.com/POR-15-Fuel-Tank-Sealer_p_64.html Requires tank removal though.
  9. 37F (above average) 1.19/liter (~US$4.50/US Gallon)
  10. I see warranty info on the Rock Auto page but it's MAYBE unclear. I think when I looked on the Autozone(?) site, Dorman tanks were 1 year, Spectra 3 years. Worth confirming with Rock before ordering. Also, perhaps, confirming where manufactured where manufactured (if important to you). AFAIK, Spectra is Canada. Dorman? USA? Mexico? Chindia?
  11. To me, this indicates that you have a 'starting battery' installed. You need a 'deep cycle battery'. Many report being happy with those from WallyWorld.
  12. FWIW, OEM PNs are:- 5342289103 (L) & 5342289104 ® $22.11 ea. from http://www.toyotapartsdirect.com/catalogs.html
  13. It looks like '1*800*RADIATOR' tries to sell franchises. Why not phone them direct and see if they've managed to sell one near where you are now, even though you'll probably be reluctant to install another of theirs. Probably 'Made in Chindia'.
  14. Neither of your part numbers give anything with Google, so no help identifying the manufacturer. If you ever do happen to find out, be sure to post here so we'll know who to avoid.
  15. 3 year warranty? Sounds like a Spectra part. http://www.autozone.com/fuel-delivery/fuel-tank/toyota/pickup-2wd/1993/6-cylinders-v-3-0l-fi?filterByKeyWord=fuel+tank&fromString=search Dorman is 1 year warranty.
  16. Do either of your invoices have any indication of the part number installed? Spectra gas tank numbers are like 'TO09B'. How far are you from where the latest tank was installed? Half a continent away? Who actually bought the tank? You? Or the installer? Sorry, I don't remember which of the online Toyota Dealer sites I found that price. There are also several Toyota PN to chose from, depending on year, model (like RN85), etc. http://1sttoyotaparts.com/ http://www.toyotapartsdirect.com/ Etc.
  17. Though it's no longer leaking, you might want to continue adding more layer to prevent it failing again from vibrations and road shock. Just a thought.
  18. Custom and Commercial Wheel https://www.facebook.com/Custom-Commercial-Wheel-332274583550260/ Not sure they're still in business. Website is down and nothing posted on FB since February 2013!
