  1. Is that a 12 volt TV and if so where did you get it? I'm looking for a 12 volt/120 volt flat panel.
  2. Trailer it, I haul one or two four wheelers behind mine. I adjust the position of my four wheelers on the trailer so there is no more than about 30 lbs on the hitch. Mike
  3. Is that aluminum siding or fiberglass? It looks good, post pics after painting if you can. Thanks, Mike
  4. How 'bout a little more info. What kind of glue? Was this applied over paneling? My "wood" paneling seems to have a wood grain vinyl finish, will wall paper stick to it? I like what you did. Mike
  5. Buy a sewing machine for $100, material for $50, learn to sew and make your own. It's not hard to make curtains. When you are done you will have the curtains and the machine for your next project.
  6. Thanks, will be anxiously awaiting your pic to see how this is done. Also do you know the brand of awning? Mike
  7. I like that idea, a couple days or a weekend would be good for me. They wouldn't have to be big events maybe just three or more for a day or two at lake or something.
  8. I contacted the company also and they were one of the most knowledgeable and helpful that I have run across.
  9. I am looking at your picture and it looks like an awning bracket right below your water heater door. Is there any chance you could post a better pic of the bracket? I have a similar situation and would like to install an awning but have put it off because I thought the water heater door was in the way. Thanks, Mike
  10. I just finished replacing my stripes and lettering on my Toyota Escaper, bought the vinyl from http://www.lettersunlimited.com/
  11. I've got an '86 Escaper 4 cyl, fuel injecter, 4 sp, no ps, dash air, roof air been through the passes in the rockies several trips now, no problems. When I tow my two four wheelers that slows me down but I still get there, more relaxing driving without them though. As far as air if you ever go south into hot humid states you will have to have air or you will sweat like a pig day and night in the summer months. I'm from Kansas and the southeast part of the state is unbearable. Now I have been in some of the western parts of Kansas that are not to bad when the sun goes down and it's dry and a breeze is blowing. Another great thing about roof air, some campgrounds can be noisy and with the windows closed and the air on you sleep through the night without hearing a thing. The only time power steering would be needed is when parking, I would like to have ps then. Once you are moving the steering does not take much effort. On the highway there is no difference. My mileage has ranged from 13 to 23 mpg most times it is about 16-17 mpg. Oddly I seem to get some of the best mileage at high altitudes. Well, I have rambled on long enough. Mike
  12. I would attend a toyin at any of the states I mentioned but I think Illinois may be a little farther than we want to travel. If it were going on during cool or cold weather I would consider traveling to Texas or Louisiana also.
  13. I found a copy of a Dolphin pamphlet on this site and the original tires on these campers were 185x14LT. That settled it for me.
  14. Mine has a huge muffler also and if I'm on the opposite side and back 150 ft it's not bad. I don't want to sit inside and try to watch tv or take a nap with it and the ac running though.
  15. Big part of the camping fun is cooking. Breakfast is always done on the stove inside but we may eat outside if it's nice. Lunch and dinner depend where we are and what we're doing. Could be eating out one or both, maybe a sandwich prepared in the camper at noon and night too if on the road. If staying in the same place for a day or two some slow cooked smoked meat over a hardwood fire with beer the whole time waiting for it to finish and not caring if it ever does.
  16. All the Toyins seem to be in the east or the west. I'm wondering if there are enough of us in the listed states to have anything this summer or fall? Maybe we could get something together in the central US.
  17. They go up the grades as well as any camper and the generator will not be needed in the rockies.
  18. You can do someone a favor and list it on ebay or craigslist and sell it to someone who needs it. If you don't mind removing nuts and bolts, a gas line and some wires, then pulling it up through the couch or dinette(it's heavy)it's not bad. It can be pretty greasy and oily but it washes off.
  19. Simplest method for coffee, no battery drain. Take the filter basket from your home coffee maker, boil water on your stove and pour slowly through the basket/filter assembly while holding over your coffee pot. Same as electric without electricity and you don't have to store the coffee maker.
  20. The break is pretty well rusted like it's been that way for quite a while. Perhaps someone tried to jack it up using a bumper jack one time. It doesn't look like you'll be able to weld the top because of lack of access. If there is room on the inside a professional welder can probably add gussets to each side and make it as strong as original. I think after the repair some periodic monitoring would be wise.
  21. A year and a half ago I drained my oil and filled it with pure STP. That made it quite a bit quieter. Many people said it would harm it but I've had no problems yet. I still find it too noisy to be of any use though. The only thing it would ever be needed for is the AC.
  22. I've got D range Hankooks and have about 5000miles on them, no problems. Very reasonable price.
  23. Have you owned this for some time and it just started this?
