  1. thank you so much for that info. that is exactly what i needed to hear and perfectly explained. great. i will check it out. another test for you amigo. thank you so much again for your previous well thought out advice. 1. what do you know about checking reefers that are not working? my fridge does not work when my coach is plugged in. I have no idea why, or how to begin checking. I feel like I should probably just take the coach in somewhere for this??? when i switch the fridge to gas power and light it, the orange glowing square indicates that the fridge is running and lit off of the propane... just as it should be. but still not coldness at all, and no freezer. any idea how to deal with this? 2. hot water heater? i have never been able to get any hot water, and dont even know if my coach has one... 84 huntsman... i have no manuals. anyway, where would one check to see if there is a hot water heater? any idea how to test? my furnace works great for hot air, and that seems like what they would use for the hot water heater??? let me know what you think. 3. i have an 84 huntsman in ok cosmetic condition and what I feel is good mechanical condition. 90k on a 22r. 4 spd bulletproof tight trani and tight clutch. I am trying to take a 60+ day vacation down the coast into mexico. if you were getting ready for a trip like that (4000 round trip miles... some hard and rough ones), what types of changes or checks would you do pre trip? changing tires and shocks.. any help would be so appreciated. you can e mail me directly if you like at ecosoundroofcare@yahoo.com thanks again. cristian
  2. where are you at in mexico? how long are you down there? are you boondocking much or staying in rv parks. we are leaving soon and looking for feedback from other toyota rvers about where to go and what to see. get back to me when you can. thanks tony. cristian
  3. I want to replace my carpet in my huntsman.. would like to try to keep the '84 shag look to it.. maybe an orange or something rusty to match the original stuff on the walls. Any idea where to look or where to start on this project? RV or Carpet store? DIY? Websites? Let me know if you can help. Thank you.
  4. My 84 Huntsman doesn't have an awning and I would like to put one on. I don't want anything cheap or crappy on my rig. Price is not really an issue, but I do appreciate a good value. I need help in finding a website or distributor of a quality awning. Anyone out there got any ideas??? Help? Thank you.
  5. came back from a camping trip, had power whole trip. came home, plugged in coach, checked it a few days later and had no interior lighting. water pump has juice and batts read full. is there a fuse box or fuse that i may have blown for the interior lights? anyone? please let me know. thank you.
  6. thank you much. where would that gvw tag be located??? any idea?
  7. i have left a couple of threads and questions here and cant seem to get any input back.. am i doing something wrong? is anyone out there getting these messages? let me know if you can.. thanks everyone.. if your out there.
  8. i have a 1984 huntsman, 21 foot. does anyone know the following?? I have no manuals.. 1. i have the stock ac unit. will a 3500 watt generator run an ac unit that size? not sure of btu or wattage. 2. weight limit loaded down? anyone know what i am supposed to be under so i can do a trial run by a truck scale? 3. tires.. replacing all 6. any ideas or preferences on affordable but strong motorhome tires... we are going deep into mexico. 4. i am looking for a 12 foot or so awning (anyone know the exact size that would fit a 21 ft. huntsman?) any idea where to find one ?? 5. Any place on mainland mexico coast that (mazatlan south) that you would consider an UNMISSABLE place to visit? Thanks for any and all advice in advance. I really appreciate any help that you offer. Have a great one. Cheers! CRC
  9. THIS WEBSITE AND ITS MEMBERS ARE A GODSEND TO ANYONE WITH A TOYOTAL MOTORHOME. YOU GUYS ARE REALLY SMART, AND REALLY COOL. IF ANYONE can wrap their heads around these questions and help I would greatly appreciate it. I have never owned a motorhome before, but am somewhat mechanical. I have a few questions to start, but you might be hearing LOTS from me. 1. What is the typical weight limit that I want to stay under for a 84 Huntsman fully loaded? 2. Best value but strongest, most durable tires? Heading into Mex and need great tires. Shocks too are shot... any ideas on great brands for these? 3. Boondocking- want to put solar panel on top to trickle feed battery bank. any ideas of something small but big enough to work? want to boondock for 3-5 days at a time. 4. Rear hitch rack for bikes or even luggage stuff? too much weight? any ideas of a good, strong brand? 5. Owners manual - I dont have one.. any idea how to order or get one? 6. Extra safety locks - Anyone know how to secure a motorhome above and beyond the basic door locks? Slider locks inside? We will be in mexico...... 7. Roof Sealer- I dont have any leaks and surely dont want any. Any ideas of a good product that i can apply myself to cover the roof? 8. THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT- I need a generator to run the rooftop ac unit... some people say the honda 2000 will do it easily..others say no way. i am not sure the btu, but it is the stock unit, and i dont have it installed right now or i would just test it against generators. i am going to buy a honda or something similar in size and volume. do i need two 2000's or one 3000? any ideas? Thats about it for now... sorry for the LOooooNNNNNGG post. Please help me. Your my only hope.
