  1. Did you see this one. Newer and most Dolphins already have the upgraded axle. If this does it's actually cheaper than the other one your looking at. Looks very clean and low mileage. A drive but not crazy far Linda S http://mobile.craigslist.org/rvs/5269575994.html
  2. If I need a ladder I would definitively go with one of these. Very lightweight. There are slightly shorter ones available. Prices on eBay are all over the place. I didn't take the time to find the cheapest so look around first if you choose to get one. Might store in a closet Linda S http://www.ebay.com/itm/330Lbs-10-5FT-11-Steps-Aluminum-Telescoping-Collapsible-Extension-Ladder-US-SHIP-/311356149133?hash=item487e45cd8d:g:G0kAAOSwcwhVMIoK OK looked around. This one is being bid on but should go for less than 50 bucks including shipping. 8.5 feet http://www.ebay.com/itm/EN131-8-5FT-Aluminum-Telescoping-Telescopic-Extension-Ladder-Tall-Multi-Purpose-/201451197552?hash=item2ee76d5470:g:6vUAAOSweW5VHI~i
  3. Part number is 47255 and you can buy it here. http://www.toyotapartsoverstock.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=481458&ukey_product=3950431 Scroll down to right number. Way too much money for such a little thing and you need to buy 2 Is there some reason you didn't buy a complete master cylinder. Most come with a new reservoir. Linda S
  4. Any used vehicle that you buy is going to need repairs. Newer low mileage Roadtrek's go for tons of money and have pretty big gas guzzling engines. I think you should try to go drive a few and join some Roadtrek groups and see what they are complaining about. Get some perspective. I would never think of a vehicle with only 100,000 miles on it as done for. Could it be possible that the problems you have had are all fixed now and it will run great for a long time? My girlfriend has a Roadtrek and it's very tight inside. How much stuff do you take when you drive to Florida. If you pack quite a bit there is no room in a Roadtrek. My 18ft Sunrader has more storage space than her Roadtrek which is a foot longer Linda S
  5. Yeah now that I see the wheels it looks OK. I just went through a major ordeal finding valve stems that would work for the outside and inside wheels. Never realized that nothing would fit until the end. My 86 has the 6 hand holes and all the wheel holes are much smaller than the 3 hand hole wheels. I ended up putting the shortest possible metal valve stems on the outside and snap in high pressure rubber and metal combo valve stems on the inside. Even with the shortest possible metal stems on the inside no extensions would fit. The snap in ones on it now move just enough so I can thread the extension on. See how the wheel hole extends a little bit into the flat section of the wheel. Mine doesn't at all. In fact opening ends about 1/2 inch below the flat center section. These stems would not work on my rig at all except in the front. Linda S
  6. A turbo charger is about the only way to reduce altitude loss of power. HP declines at only about 1.5% per thousand feet compared to non turbo charged engine declines at about 3% per thousand feet Linda S.
  7. That valve looks way too long for the outside tire. The valve needs to be either short enough to get air in it or at least be short enough to install a 90 degree extension. If someone made this work I would love to see a close up picture. Linda S
  8. My guess would be that the cap is not tight anymore or your reservoir is cracked. To bleed the brakes requires them to remove and reinstall the cap a number of times. maybe too much for it. Press on the brake and it comes out the top and you don't have the pressure needed for the brakes. Any fluid that comes out the top would fall on a hot engine so that's probably what smells. Linda S
  9. Well it's cheaper than the Australian one. Another place you could try is Sunset metals. They bought the fuel tank specs from Northwest metals a couple of years ago. They don't make the Toyota 26 gallon tank anymore but they do say on their website if you don't see what you need to contact them. Bet they still have the specs to make the tank. http://www.sunsetmetalfab.net/page008.html last price I saw at Northwest for the 26 gallon tank was close to 700. Probably not any cheaper now if Sunset will even make it. PS don't tell them it's for an RV. Price will be drastically higher for no good reason Linda S
  10. OK hope this helps Go to classifieds, click on post ad It says please log in. Don't put anything in the username section yet. To the right of username click on " need to register" A screen comes up asking for your name and address and pertinent info it also asks for a username and password. Fill page out completely Make sure you click on the little agree to terms box at the bottom Click on submit and then you should get that activation email with instructions. Probably just a link to click on Then you will be able to come back to the classified page and log in and post your ad Linda S
  11. The only drawback I can think of is that most storage facilities require some kind of commitment as to how long your vehicle would be there. If you were going to be gone for only a week you would probably have to pay for the month. If your going to be traveling around Florida it might be hard to find spots to leave it when you want to fly home. Don't know how easy it is to find camping spots in Florida in the winter either. In California all the good camping spots are booked up months before the summer season. I see in Florida RV parks are charging almost double in the winter what they charge in the summer so that is obviously the high season. It would take some very careful planning to figure out how to make this work out smoothly Linda S We have a couple of members who live in Florida who would know better. Oh I see Jim just posted a similar response to mine. Yes you would need to be close to airport and they are going to charge at least a full month
  12. are you getting the activation email. After you enter your name and password the site sends you an email to click on before it's accepted. If you don't see it look in your spam file. If your not getting it anywhere let me know and I will send Greg another message Linda
  13. Sherrie posted these pics of I assume coolant that she drained. This stuff was in her rig and pumped around and clearly didn't mix. I don't think this is a good thing http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?app=gallery&image=3280 Linda S
  14. Hmm I didn't think anyone was making larger tanks for Toyota motorhomes but Aerotank has pics of a custom tank for our RV's here. Couldn't hurt to call and see how much. Very big, 30 gallons. Scroll down to see http://www.aerotanks.com/main/customphotos.html Linda S
  15. Sending copy of your post to Greg. Hopefully he will step in with some instructions Linda S
  16. This one has been for sale for a very long time. He has stated before that the frame is rusted out but now he's saying it's just the brakes. Got to wonder what is the truth Linda S
  17. Red and green are not supposed to be compatible. I know that when I went from green to red that's when my radiator clogged up. I didn't flush thoroughly so they were mixed in there. Never had a heat problem before this so I think that was the cause Linda S Wow that supposedly top Toyota place used green. I'm very surprised at that.
  18. This place has the roofing, cut to the size you need. notice they also have structural aluminum. I'm thinking you might need some, oh and siding Linda S http://www.themetalcompany.com/node/15
  19. Zach said he had to register for the classified section. I don't know but try it Linda Oh and check your spam file to see if there is an activation email there. trying to cover all bases
  20. I was only quoting direct from Ultravan sites and from ads for it. The original design and what it ended up being after Detroit got it's hands on it seem to be 2 different things. Linda S Direct quote from Ultravan site Corvair-powered Ultra Vans have a power-to-weight ratio from 35 to 45 pounds per horsepower, comparing favorably to current motorhome ratios of up to 50 pounds or more. When the V-8 Corvette Ultra was introduced, even though the new design added 1,500 pounds, the increased horsepower of the V-8 dropped the power-to-weight ratio to 30 pounds per horsepower, providing sparkling (almost sport-car) performance. It can cruise easily at 70 mph, climb hills in 'Drive' and give a respectable 12 to 15 miles per gallon at 60 mph. The downside, was the price had climbed to over $11,000 without options.
  21. By 1969 the Ultravan was powered by the V8 corvette engine which added 1500 lbs to the design. Economy and weight weren't much a concern back then remember. May have still looked cute but it was a different vehicle. The issue here is the inventor was able to make an amazing light fuel efficient vehicle. Linda S
  22. In the 1966 brochure the GVWR was 5000 lbs. The whole idea of the darn thing was that it was lighter than most passenger vehicles. Linda S
  23. Back to the can a Ultravan work with a hybrid motor. They start out at 3400 lbs curb weight and JD thinks loaded it's going to weigh 6000 lbs? What are you loading it with, bricks? A Lexus RX runs quite nicely with the Hybrid motor and they weigh in at around 4500 lbs. Add to that fuel efficiency in a hybrid all relate to electric power. Bet you could put 1000 watts of solar on that roof. Flexible panels would come to about 40 lbs and be flush with the roof Linda S
