Sticking all that weight on my roof is something I wouldn't consider. I can climb my ladder and put one of those black bag things up there if I want to have a warm shower. Or just a hose out the window. If the ambient temp is 75 that's the temp of the water in your fresh water tank. Warm enough for me Linda S

Toyota put a picture of a Sunrader in their 1984 brochure and National RV that made the Dolphin was a huge company. Largest RV company next to Winnebago for the years they were in business. Why you think you need to argue a 30 year old issue is beyond me. Great that no one died 30 years ago but if you still happen to have that axle now on an already very old motorhome, pretty sure if it fails the rest of the RV will completely fall apart. Linda S

Toyota knew there was a problem with the motorhomes and I'm sure they knew exactly what wheels were being added to them. Nissan corrected that problem in 1984 but Toyota waited another 2 years even though the axles were already available in other countries. Yes if they ignore a problem to avoid spending the money to fix it or to make sure their sales are not reduced they are culpable in the damage done. Linda S

I doubt that they are any harder to find. Toyota made millions of vehicles with the A43D transmission and almost all Toyota motorhomes with the 4 cylinder have automatic transmissions. Certainly a few manuals but not really that many. Where have you looked for parts. I guess it doesn't matter since your putting in a V6 but they have their own headaches to deal with. Make sure he adjusts the valve before he even puts it in. Linda S -

Rent one from here and then maybe buy one. The 19G is just about one of the smallest fully self contained RV's you can buy today and they are really cute. It also has a smaller V8. Their website lists a full bath as a possible option for all campers. Possible doesn't mean they can add it to a Toyota sized camper and looking at the models for a Toyota I would say not likely. I have seen one mini truck sized camper for sale made by Kickin kampers. It had a slide out in the rear where the bathroom was. Unfortunately the company went out of business. Linda S

There are no Toyota campers with a bathroom which I think is a must if you are full timing. Linda S I do mean truck campers that fit Toyota trucks not our motorhomes. A 21 foot Sunrader would give him the fiberglass he likes and Toyota chassis

No problem. I have 2 Sunraders. A 1986 Toyota with the 4 cylinder and a 1986 Nissan with a V6. Both the short 18 ft models. I was able to adjust the front height on my Nissan quite a bit with the torsion adjustment. Yours is the 720 model so I don't know if it's the same or not. Also adding an air bag suspension in the back would give you some more height there. Linda S

Did you buy the Sunrader that was for sale in Tacoma last year? That one was pretty darn nice. Linda S Oh and you live in such a beautiful place. Drove around it once and every minute was an ooh and aah moment

A Nissan Sunrader would have been built all on a Nissan truck. It doesn't have a Toyota axle. Also if it is really a 1984 it already had a full float axle. Nissan came out with them before Toyota. If you can post a pic it would help but have you actually counted the rear lugs. If it really is only 5 I'm afraid your stuck. Almost no Nissan full float axles are available. That model Chinook is my dream model. They only made them for a couple of years. Best model Chinook ever. Buy it but the mileage won't be great. Hey gas is cheap right now Well I found one of these for sale in Florida but it's a V10 not a V8. Mega gas hog Linda S

No Dolphins made anymore at all but yes. A used Toyota in good shape is a great way to start. They are pretty dependable, most repairs are not major, and lots of our members have made it to Alaska and back with no problems. Get used to the idea of learning a little more about mechanics though. Big difference when your driving hundreds or thousands of miles instead of just back and forth to work where your regular mechanic is at hand. Also you will be better able to tell if something isn't right. It's an adventure and your going to love it. Linda S

No one makes tanks for older Toyota trucks. Try calling these guys. 2 different places that claim to have suitable tanks. Yup Yukon Gear no longer shows the 4 cylinder ring and pinion on their website. It is still showing up on Marlin Crawler though. Maybe they just have a back log of stock. Have I told you guys how much I hate this thread lately. Darrel that's is a beautiful table and sounds like it's a project that most people could manage but after a couple of days no one will ever see it again. This thread will come up on a search for tables but who is going to search through 23 pages and growing to eventually be able to find your great table. No one.
