  1. I don't believe I ever said it was a stiff ride. I just said you can get a little lift from it. Not much though. Linda S
  2. Did you try calling the salvage yards or hitting pick and pull. I checked pick and pull's pricing. 24 dollars including core charge. If there's something else wrong that is blowing out your computer do you really want to spend hundreds. Linda S
  3. The cooling units are not hard to replace but they are running around 500 bucks now. Look at this. Right size and very cheap. Looks nice and clean. Just need to drive some. He lowered the price to only 250. http://goldcountry.craigslist.org/rvs/5395178948.html Linda S
  4. I've had a couple of these little ones that I got at Harbor Freight for free with a coupon. Worked great keeping my battery on my Nissan that's in storage topped off. Last visit it was gone and battery power was noticeably lower. Now I'm paying my granddaughter to go over every week and start and run it for a while. The free solar unit was cheaper Linda S
  5. Yup I went back and looked at the parts for single wheel trucks and it is the same part number. So now it's far more likely that you would be able to find it at one of the salvage yard I posted or even pick and pull. Linda S
  6. If his gauge is about the same as mine he's already getting around 13 mpg driving around town. The only way your going to know highway mileage is to hit the road. Speed is the killer of mileage. I try to stay at just under 60 for the best mileage. Any faster and I can watch it drop Linda S
  7. how about Oreilly's http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/MPE0/ECC1075/01599.oap?year=1986&make=Toyota&model=Pickup&vi=1277412&ck=Search_C0396_1277412_2572&pt=C0396&ppt=C0334 Linda S
  8. Your profile says Sacramento. Huge Toyota salvage yards in Rancho Cordova. Pretty sure you could find one that works fine for a fraction of the new prices. http://www.ranchotoyotatruckparts.com/index.html http://www.alltoyotatrucksuvparts.com/ Couple of pretty well stocked Pick and Pulls up there too. Linda S Oops might be harder than I thought to find. Part is specific for the dual wheel trucks and part number changed mid year on the one. Your part number is used from 8/85 to 8/87.
  9. I had a major blowout a few months ago after hitting metal in the road. 2 tires destroyed and I ended up driving home with one tire in the back and used the spare on the front. I don't believe the spare had ever been down. It was original tire. Yes I drove home on a 30 year old tire but I made it and the spare came down with no problem at all. I am in California so rust isn't such a big issue but I have been on the beach more than I should have so there is some rust down there. Linda S
  10. Toyota trucks came with an undermount carrier that winches down with the extension on your spare tire tool kit. Looks kind of like this http://contentinfo.autozone.com/znetcs/product-info/en/US/drm/924-502/image/3/ This place isn't far from you. They have hundreds of Toyota trucks on the lot. I'm sure they will have one http://www.calminitruck.com/ Linda S
  11. I have tried getting to this site several times through a google search and I haven't hit a nasty redirect once since the new system went in. I think that problem has been fixed. If anyone gets a redirect now please let me know Linda S
  12. Yeah I forgot the ads are usually linked to something you've searched for. I'm getting hounded for Ford Explorer parts ads from a recent part search. Might help to delete your browsing history and clear your cookies. Linda S
  13. I haven't seen it but I will let Greg know. Linda
  14. I got a deal on my Tiger because the seller listed it as a Tiger Woods van good for Burning Man and it was posted in cars and trucks instead of RV's on craigslist. No pictures either. I just had a gut feeling and I was right. Cool Linda S
  15. That is an Allegro and yes they had problems carrying the weight. The early Astro vans had fiberglass leaf springs. They didn't just sag under the weight, they broke. Provan started upgrading the springs to metal at sometime but my 93 sags even with the metal springs. It needs some air suspension, I just haven't gotten to it. Runs like a bat out of hell though and is so fun to drive. I do like that your kids or passengers sit facing forward. Much more comfortable on a long drive. Just check the springs. Sounds like a deal if they are good. Linda S
  16. No I still have original. I will have to look at them to see what you mean Linda
  17. Yes, it's a Toyota Motored Home. It's all just semantics. Linda S
  18. Yup link didn't follow through but if you search this part number it shows that it fits trucks with the 20r engine. 23100-39315 This shows what it fits here http://www.nitomainc.com/npsp3.php?masterno=23100-39315 Linda S
  19. There are slots in your windows to use this type of lock. At least these are what came on my Sunrader. Ignore second picture. Does not apply Linda S http://www.windowdoorparts.com/16-f2612-window-sash-lock.html?gdftrk=gdfV220263_a_7c2853_a_7c5518_a_7c2731&gclid=CKHh7M3vgcsCFQ6oaQodruoAWw
  20. Mechanical fuel pump for 20R engine 1980 Toyota truck used in vehicles made from 8/79 to 8/80 http://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~pump~assy~fuel~23100-39315.html?Make=Toyota&Model=Pickup&Year=1980&Submodel=&Filter=(d=USA;1=20R) Linda S
  21. Adapter to fit hose to your faucet available at almost any hardware store and I used to have an outdoor shower with poles that hooked together and an on and off switch at the shower. Haven't been able to find it. Think I left it at a campground somewhere. Bring extra water in 2 1/2 or 5 gallon jugs inside. I like the ones that collapse down to nothing when they aren't full. Your near me. You know how tippy these rigs already are in the wind or rough terrain. More weight up high just exaggerates that. Lower center of gravity=better handling. Think sports car Linda S
  22. Sticking all that weight on my roof is something I wouldn't consider. I can climb my ladder and put one of those black bag things up there if I want to have a warm shower. Or just a hose out the window. If the ambient temp is 75 that's the temp of the water in your fresh water tank. Warm enough for me Linda S
  23. Toyota put a picture of a Sunrader in their 1984 brochure and National RV that made the Dolphin was a huge company. Largest RV company next to Winnebago for the years they were in business. Why you think you need to argue a 30 year old issue is beyond me. Great that no one died 30 years ago but if you still happen to have that axle now on an already very old motorhome, pretty sure if it fails the rest of the RV will completely fall apart. Linda S
  24. Toyota knew there was a problem with the motorhomes and I'm sure they knew exactly what wheels were being added to them. Nissan corrected that problem in 1984 but Toyota waited another 2 years even though the axles were already available in other countries. Yes if they ignore a problem to avoid spending the money to fix it or to make sure their sales are not reduced they are culpable in the damage done. Linda S
