  1. I do not know what it looks like underneath. Never owned anything but a Sunrader and don't remember seeing where someone else had taken it all off. Think there is some kind of cutout there though Linda S
  2. You can add almost any large corporation to that list. Coke, McDonalds, Disney all sue often for brand protection. You would have to stop buying everything if it really bothers you. Linda S
  3. The Nissan dealership up here has a waiting list for the new Nissan with the Cummins diesel. Toyota just isn't what it used to be. Have you ever driven a Yaris. Scary flimsy. When I moved I had to rent a bunch of cars to get all my vehicles up here. The Yaris was the worst and the nicest was a Nissan Versa. Freaking awesome little car. Linda S
  4. Well I wasn't thinking of turning that into a motorhome. OK Toyota exports plenty of cab and chassis to Europe and South America with left hand drive like us. If our country wasn't so restrictive about what can be imported the same trucks could be shipped here including the diesels. I don't get it why diesels are OK from VW and Mercedes but not Toyota. A cab and chassis 4x4 with a diesel engine runs about 30,000 American dollars plus whatever import fees and shipping would add to the price. This according to current Australian pricing whose dollar is worth 75 cents here. Linda S
  5. They don't need to sell the C+C truck. Just give me one of these with that kind of power and strength. Since there is no special platform for the C+C all the trucks are beasts
  6. The Hilux's do not have dual wheels or full float axles and now no more 6 cylinders. I was wrong on the turbo diesel though. 174 HP for the top rated engine and still a 4 cylinder. Tow rating is 7700 lbs. Not bad for a small truck. I shouldn't have looked this stuff up. Now I'm feeling seriously deprived. Linda S
  7. Yeah I would remove the window first. Do what Dan said to remove. It might just need to be reinstalled with new butyl tape to seal the whole thing. If the glass to frame is leaking easy to find out after you remove it. Lay it flat on a table outside up and pour a little bit of water on it. If it leaks through yes the window is at fault. Window can be sealed with the same type of sealant you use for windshields or glass glazing butyl tape. Not the same as you use for frame to coach, this stuff https://www.vintagetrailersupply.com/Butyl-Glazing-Tape-p/vts-137.htm Don't know how your window is actually installed in the frame though. Would have to see pics from the front. After you put the window back in on conventional windows you need glazing bead but you have to get the correct size. If your window isn't leaking reinstall it with new butyl all around edge. This stuff https://www.recpro.com/butyl-tape-1-8-x-1-x-30/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw3v3YBRCOARIsAPkLbK4_DOOI_UQtea3j_ZIeusz-YtrBb13hjVLs-rRN4tNLwCLL3Pr-DuEaApAqEALw_wcB Linda S
  8. Looks like the Savannah was only made from 1986 to 1988 so there probably weren't too many made. I don't know that anyone has production numbers for any of the Toyota motorhome models. One of the main reasons that there are no Toyota motorhomes anymore is that Americans didn't really want a true truck. GVWR for Toyota trucks took a dive with the Tacoma. A new Tacoma will give you a GVWR of only 5600lbs. Less than the 6000 of the later Toyota motorhomes. The rest of the world where Toyota motorhomes are still made the Hilux can still be bought. That Hilux if we could get them will give you a GVWR of 6700 lbs with a lighter weight truck and a 4 cylinder engine or even better a turbo diesel with 147hp. Linda S
  9. Sure looks good and you can't beat the price Linda S
  10. The lights look like pretty standard Bargman type lights. Measure the outside light section only to find a replacement. I know for a fact that the wedge thing they are mounted on is not available anywhere. Remove them very carefully and clean up the wedge. Strengthen it from the inside if possible to make it last. Linda S
  11. Yes I did. I just hate to see things that might be of use get thrown away. I just know the minute I do it will suddenly become exactly what I need. Linda S
  12. Well I can no longer find my factory installation manual. Probably never made it back into my file when I did the replacement about 5y ears ago. Never had reason to look for it since. If you've got yours working and charging correctly then go with it. When I get the chance I will try to follow the wires in mine and document them Linda S
  13. OK like I said I have a Sunrader. 2 of them in fact. Yes one side of that isolator goes to the coach battery and one side goes to the truck battery. The isolator doesn't require powering per se. It directs the power from your alternator to the truck battery and the coach battery but isolates one from the other. Again top posts go to ground and alternator. Power in at the top, power out on both sides. That is how both of mine were set up from the factory and how the original isolator manual that I have from the Sunrader factory shows it to be. The isolator you chose will work fine. It's just capable of handling more than your going to give it. It will still direct your power in the correct manner. This is the one in mine. I replaced it for no reason. Original one worked fine but we do like to replace stuff don't we. It has an 80 amp rating so not far off of yours https://www.rvautoparts.com/7001-S-Tekonsha-Battery-Isolator-For-Use-With-12-Volt-Battery-For_p_1158.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjw3v3YBRCOARIsAPkLbK46BxIB844n_115K2zN31_qI6Y51b05n9PKNClF5mheDO4LnBlCEm8aArjwEALw_wcB Linda S
  14. I just looked at your pics. What are you trying to do? The wires on each side of that isolator go to truck battery or coach battery. The posts in the front or top in the pics are for wire direct from alternator and the other one is a ground. Leave your freaking wiper wire out of it. Not supposed to be part of the equation. Linda S
  15. It's listed in the bay area too which is where the ad says it is. probably a real ad. These are old enough to import now and there is a dealer in Oregon who specializes in importing them. Don't think I could get used to the right hand drive though. Linda S
  16. That is just nuts. He needs to check his codes to find out what's wrong. If your oxygen sensor isn't working it needs to be replaced not have seafoam run through the system. Clearing codes before the necessary repairs are made is senseless. Please find a mechanic for Fred who knows Toyota's so it can be fixed properly and you can enjoy your new camper. You should know that there was a head gasket special service campaign for this engine and that the valves need to be checked every 60,000 miles. They can get too tight and cause a burnt valve situation. Linda S
  17. Your vehicle is before code scanners and can't be checked by one. Codes are checked by jumping connection in the fuse box and then counting flashing engine light on dash. See here https://www.2carpros.com/articles/toyota-trouble-code-definitions-and-code-gathering-method-1990-1995 Not many people rely on dealerships to maintain 25 year old vehicles. Best bet is to look up repair shops that specialize in Toyota's or at least foreign cars and then start calling to find someone who is willing to work on yours. Try truck shops too. They have lifts that can accommodate your vehicle if needed. Linda S
  18. I've been driving mine for 14 years and never heard a bang noise. Bad installation is what must cause it. I add the one I drive the most is my Toyota Sunrader. It still has the original windows and gasket from the factory and it doesn't leak one bit. Had to do the Nissan because I got it with a completely broken window. Linda S
  19. Here's your video. Get a scaffold though. I didn't have one for first window of the Nissan and lost my balance and dropped it and broke it. Bad day. I was lucky. Had friend with another one for me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9uPg7d-ERE Linda S
  20. I did mine on my Nissan Sunrader a few years back, by myself, so I was already over 60. If this little old lady can do it anyone can. For the bulge. Lay that section flat. Use something to support it if you can and heat it up with a blow dryer. Heat gun can be used if very careful. You don't want to melt it just soften it some. Then weigh it down with something. Too bad we don't get those huge phone books anymore but something smooth that won't leave ripples. Let it cool and see how it looks. You can try this several times but always make sure you don't overdo it. There is a video on this site of the installation but maybe someone else can find it this time. Linda S
  21. It's called a Fresnel Lens and I see out my back window just fine https://www.ebay.com/itm/WIDE-ANGLE-REAR-WINDOW-LENS-FRESNEL-VIEW-OPTICAL-8-x10/231257679289?epid=1302097030&hash=item35d80825b9:g:BakAAOxyni9TCibP Linda S
  22. Found it. Picture is from Heavypoly. They do digital imaging for films. Camper is photoshopped Linda S If you want to try and build a real one here's your coach https://denver.craigslist.org/pts/d/parting-out-1978-toyota-rv/6608064485.html
  23. Your welcome but tell everyone where you got that great price. That's a super deal for a new kit Linda S
