  1. I leave it on gas all the time. Doesn't use much propane.
  2. I drove a 89-90 don't remember the year with a chevy 350, man did it git up and go. Didn't buy it because was afraid of the extra front end weight. Man did it go, OH I already said that.
  3. You can look at the rear breaks by removing a round rubber plug from the break drum. I had a 1984 dolphin which I sold with 138,000 miles on it. The rear breaks were original and had at least 50% brake material left.
  4. You guys did a great job of repair. I like the milkshake container. Are you going to leave the tire mark on the door? I would.
  5. How many of do use that walk through from cab to coach???? I'm to old and not nearly nimble enough to crawl through that space. Did it once to see if I could, never again.
  6. Yes it scratches, if fact there is numerous scratches just on the install. Don't really care because we have it covered with bubble wrap-black out all the time. Like to sleep in the dark. I didn't want it to get hit with a rock again and break.
  7. I had to fix a broken window located over the cab. Turned out the seal was no good. Was able to get a new seal from WWW.winnebagoparts.com which is "Mobility RV INC," 800-933-7742. The seal is $1.90 per foot plus shipping. I ordered 13 feet got 15 feet for about $40 dollars. It arrived within a week. Now installing it is more work. You have to measure, cut, and weld the ends together. I used a flat blade on my soldering gun. Practice a few times and it works. Installed Lexan plastic 1/8" thick. Also used butyl rubber tape on the outside flange. It does not leak. Yes I posted about this broken window before. Went through two glass companys and ended up doing it myself. Wish a person could get good ..............
  8. Also WWW.boondockingguide.com
  9. Completed this upgrade yesterday. Installed Bargman #47-84-005 LED. Couldn't get the turn signal to work properly hyper-flash. Tried a led compatible flasher from AutoZone but it didn't work with led or incandescent bulbs. Then tried another flasher and works perfectly. I have included pictures. The EP34 works, normal flash. But it is longer and doesn't have the Toyota mounting tab. I taped it together and zip tied it securely. Turns out the negative-positive terminasl are reversed. AutoZone cross reference is wrong.
  10. Thanks Linda. Think I'll go t a wrecking yard with the tape measure.
  11. Since the post is on fuel tank. I am looking for a larger tank 26 gallons or so, does any one have info on this. Mite be taking another road trip to Alaska this summer and with the lower gas mileage on my v6 compared to the 4 that we took in 2010 would not make it to some of the fuel stations.
  12. 85 Diesel if you decide to give this road a try let Lee or me know in advance. Would like to be there or we can direct "Search & Rescue " to your location.
  13. My over-cab window blew out a couple weeks ago, Replaced it with Lexan plastic, hope it works. While up there I said to myself, " Self why don't you put in the new LED clearance lights." So I did. Then I sat back and drank a beer---mmmmm good.
  14. Congratulations on your new old motorhome, sorry that you didn't make it home. The fuel filter may be plugged. The muffler or catalytic converter may be plugged up. Fuel filter is located in a hard to get to place, left side of engine tucked up under the intake close to the starter. I had a muffler on a Honda civic deteriorate on the inside. It would act-up with the same systems as you explain. Try pounding on the muffler and cat. If the rattle they may be bad. Fuel filter is under pressure, maybe 45# so if you remove it have a cold engine and remove the negative battery cable to prevent a possible fire. I'm sure other people will post on your situation.
  15. as I posted earlier, I built a drawer under the overhead bed which is large enough to hold the TV, lap-top, cables, maps, etc. Drawer measures 30"W x 22" D x 3"T. Can post pictures again if anyone is interested.
  16. Did those Islands in the early 70's. They still look the same. Beautiful pictures.
  17. I had a 1984 Dolphin-1983 Toyota truck, 22R 4speed. The hitch was welded to the frame and cross welded, not bolted to it. I occasionally did tow my Smoker Craft boat fitted with a 30HP mercury and full canvas. The boat rig weight in at 1360#. I did slow down to 50MPH and the breaking was reduced and the fuel mileage went down 2MPG. Did feel very comfortable with this tow. We would go to the upper lakes of Oregon which are at 6500" elevation. We now owen a 1994 Warrior with a bolted on hitch. Do not trust it to tow my boat, will have to get some welding done before I will try this tow.
  18. Thanks for the beautiful side show. Sure does bring back good memories.
  19. No, you will have to connect a jumper wire between both batteries. If you connect a wire from the two large terminals on the isolator it will charge both batteries simultaneously. You can use a fuse on this wire but I dont.
  20. Thats exactly what my verizon guy at Costco said. So I bought into it. 50 dollars plus tax per mo. Had it for 2 weeks now and am pleased. Has worked on the last 1,000 mile trip very well.
  21. Our cab over window blew out the other day. Wife was going to bed before me. She said "Theres glass on the bed" "It's wet" Sure enough the window had blow out some time on the way from Portland to Eugene. It was raining most of the way. Made it home, Grants Pass, with no more rain. Now waiting for a new window to be installed.
  22. Did a oil & filter change. Penzoil Platinum 10-30W synthetic and Toyota YZZD3 filter.
  23. I'm not positive but think the stock alternator is 45AMP. My fuses are 30AMP.
  24. That's correct. I have another push reset fuse located in the battery compartment, it looks like the one in the first picture.
