  1. Steve is local for me but have not heard from him in awhile. I agree about the interior but it was really bad so gutting it was a good choice. Think I might still have some items he ripped out. Works well for him. Mcminnville Or area is where we are heading. Two grand daughters there, two grandsons in Aptos though but they might relocate north eventually. Back to the sunrader convert. Still a small coach. In our 4x4 sunrader I converted the rear dinette table to a half table that could be transformed into a full table when needed. I did so because there was no where to sit inside and tie your shoe laces. The full size table would not accommodate such maneuvers!
  2. When we first started looking at RV's we came apon our first one, the Sunrader 4x4 Turbo. But before we purchased it I had looked into exactly what you are thinking. But on a 4x4 chassis. Would have been sweet. Here is the same Idea but on a Toyota.
  3. 2002 F350 dully Crew cap with a flatbed dump. Right around 9500 lbs empty. 20 and 40 gal fuel tanks. Only 135k miles on it. Trailer 2002 Fleetwood Prowler. The biggest pains in the rear is having to go to a store while en-route. As you can see by the pic not really a single space machine. Getting fuel has it's adventures also. Finding a fast food place that can accommodate can also be fun. The truck to hitch ball 21ft, trailer 27ft. All that said it drives really well and easy. If we were not hauling Grand kids around and re-locating to Oregon our toy would be perfect. And since we may be living in a trailer for awhile we are considering getting one a couple feet longer with a slideout.
  4. Same scam recently posted on our classifieds http://classifieds.toyotamotorhome.org/viewlisting.php?view=2677
  5. Yup you read it correctly. Our 1990 Toyota Gulfstream is going up for sale. Why you ask. We have out grown it. 4 grand kids etc. We bought a 26 ft travel trailer sometime ago which we pull with our 2002 F350 7.3 diesel. It seats 6, flys up mountains at the speed limit and gets 10 mpg no matter what. So anyhow I really don't want to sell it but there are more reasons. We are going to relocate to Oregon sometime next spring, sell our house in Boulder Creek and most likely have to live in our trailer while we look for a new homestead. Here are some details in case any one might be interested before I put up the ad. 85K miles I think (will check) new timing belt and water pump at about 80K miles new refrigerator. new alternator. Fairly new tire Installed ne exhaust shortly after purchase new starter Tach dash Air bag suspension with on board compressor, adjust on the fly with front cab controls Gaberial rear air shocks new battery isolator, will have to look at what I put in new coach and starter battery new propane tank valve Led lighting in refer In cabnit led lighting (just some) Alarm system Backup camera, wide angle, screen built into stereo driving lights LED taillights LED running lights Range hood retrofitted with quiet exhaust fan Aluminum super structure Custom Bali blinds New high density foam in dinette seats and couch New high density foam mattress over cab with a memory foam topper second table that fits in front of couch Some other details: When we bought it it had been vandalized. It also had a water leak over the cab bunk. Because it is aluminum frame it was easy to rebuild so the entire cab over has new interior skin. Someone threw rocks at it and broke out all the windows, they have all been replaced. Unfortunatly the rear of the coach had some punctures from rocks but have been sealed. I will add more when the grey matter remembers it all. Not ready to post picks, still doing some detailing Greg
  6. When I did my pump and timing belt, pulleys etc, I seem to remember a bolt on the top somewhere that was near to impossible to get to. Basically should have pulled the intake to get to that bolt but somehow avoided doing that. When I ordered it all no one asked if I had the inlet pipe and I can not remember if it did but all was the same as the old. 1990!
  7. I have had the same Lifeline AGM grp24 in service for almost 10 years now. Is it a 100% OK, probably not. But 10 years It has moved now through 3 RV's. I have another AGM (blue optima grp27) that I use for backup power for my ham radio station. AGM is perfect for my backup as it resides under my desk. It is constantly on an IOTA smart charger. I have an AGM for the starting battery for my backup generator. It is going on 15 years. It is constantly being chargerd by a wall wort charger that came with the generator. Personally I prefer AGM over FLA just because of the maintenance. Most everyone never checks the FLA batteries to see if they need water. Install and forget. Both technologies have their pluses. I have run down my lifeline agm to 6-11 volts on many occasions and left it that way for several weeks with out realizing it. It has always returned. On the other hand I have done the same with FLA batteries and it usually hurts them in the long run.
  8. Many parks also have full timers in order to make it through the winters. Here in CA most it seems most are $30 to $50 a night with full hookups. I think state parks are around $35.
  9. Hi all I set the board to be fluid, in other words it will now expand full width of your browser window. Will soon be looking for some other themes for those of you who would like the board in a different color etc. Greg
  10. Sorry for the delay responding to this problem. I have been in Oregon for our granddaughters birth and had no internet most of the time. Anyhow I was able to reproduce it also. I have disabled the google ads and it seems to have fixed the problem. So everyone please do some browsing and report back here. Greg
  11. Coach fuses are usually inside the coach at the power converter.
  12. Welcome The 4x4's are always a premium price heh. You did not mention year and engine tranmission. Our first toy was an 86 4x4 sunraider with the custom cab and turbo. We had to sell it because it was just too small for us. A friend of mine has a 87 pickup turbo. He had some larger down tubes built and I put one in ours along with a 3 inch exhaust to the rear. Ran really well, more HP than our V6. But one draw back I found with the turbo was that we had an automatic. At high elevation it was hard to get that turbo to spin up enough from a standing still start in some situations to make boost. Like on an incline. At times I would have to drop the transfer into low to get moving. Reverse was really bad to get it spinning even in low range. I realized I could easily get myself in a situation where I would not be able to back out of a situation when off road. Turbo produced around 7lbs of boost otherwise and would scream down the interstate. Another thing I did not like about the sunrader was the rear dinette. The table. I eventually modified the table so that it was half a table just so that I could sit and bend over to put on my socks and shoes. Also remember these 4x4 sunraders are heavy. Not as nimble as your pickup.
  13. I will look into uping the amount of messages we can each store. I went into mine and deleted all mine so hopefully now I can receive PM's
  14. I will look into the PM problem Thank you for the help offer In short here is what is going on I initially had a problem moving the database but got that sorted. Then the internal links from the root of toyotamotorhome.org to the folder "forums" and "classifieds" would not work properly. Godaddy could not figure out why nor could I. The link url was 100% correct but the server would throw back a 404 page. Toyotamotorhome.org has an index page with two links, one to the forums and the other to the classifieds. Both are sub folders. http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/etc. and that is the link on the index page.
  15. Well the bad news is we are not upgraded. I had to give up and bring us back online. I am actually moving us to a new server along with the software upgrade but just the move to the new server has not gone well. I did actually get us moved and upgraded but the www links within toyotamotorhome.org would not work properly. The upgrade to the new software is an eye opener. One thing I found out is the new software uses a different login. Presently we can have separate login and display names with this version but the new software uses the display name as the login also. As far as me not being able to receive PM's nothing is turned off that I know of. So here is the scenario. I will be taking us offline again soon and attempting to do the move and upgrade, just not sure when.
  16. Howdy all. This version of the board is soon to loose support. So I must move on to the next version. There are going to be some changes so treat the system like you just got here after the upgrade cause that is what you will be doing. I do not know what will be different so fasten your seat belts. The board will be off line during the hopefully easy upgrade.
  17. I meant to say 170 degree and here are some http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=70+degree+backup+camera&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X170+degree+backup+camera.TRS0&_nkw=170+degree+backup+camera&_sacat=0 I use a Pyle in dash for the screen.
  18. EBay has many. I have one that has 70 degree field of view. Mounted near the top it has a view about 30 feet back and I can see my rear bumper. For a screen I replaced the in dash stereo with a DVD CD player. Camera is set up so when reverse lights come on stereo automatically switches to reverse view mode. As someone said. Can't live without it. This is a hard wired version not wireless.
  19. Even if it did come with a factory detector some have a expiration date. At least the last one I bought did.
  20. There are two types of tanks or should I say valve systems. The normal is the type you would use for a BBQ that sits upright. The other sits on its side. It is not advised to use a standard BBQ type tank sitting on it's side I have been told as there is a possibility of liquid propane flowing regulator.
  21. Well I took a look and can find no real reason why. Except that regular members have a restriction. Advanced members have no restriction. Takes 25 posts to become an advanced member. Anyhow I raised upload limit for members. Image size is still limited though, I think 1600 x 1600 and will be re-sized by the system to 600 x 600. Give it another try and post back here with your results. Greg
  22. Hi Donnie The classifieds is a separate system and requires it's own signup. Greg
  23. Just a thought! How old is the timing chain? As they wear they get longer and the camshaft (valves) and ignition timing lag behind the crank shaft. You can re-time the distributor to the crank shaft but the valves are still opening late. Might not be a big concern but I see it as a problem at high rpm's. I have had 22r motors wear a hole through the timing case cover because the chain had stretched so far. Obviously ran much better after replacement.
