  1. thanks, nam. not sure about the differences between your 90 Itasca and my 92 warrior ? I do know that my warrior did not have the factory option genset. I have the factory build sheet that details all installed options from factory, as delivered to dealer. maybe Winnebago included the metal "shelf" I had to cut out because it did not have the optional genset?? any ways, it now works well for my needs. joe from dover.
  2. thanks for the link linda. may have to trade in the 20th century Honda hobbit and jump into the 21st century EBIKE. joe from dover.
  3. hey there sherri B, a popular generator is the Honda 2000i. many use some similar gensets from harbor freight. HF sells a Honda clone. others like champion brand. and there are many others on the market. I have a Honda 2000i. I like the Honda for the following reasons, quiet. the Honda is one of the quietest gens on the market for it's size. some camp grounds, state/fed parks, limit the use of generators to certain times. and some forbid them totally. your fellow campers appreciate a very quiet genset. durability and parts availability are key, and Honda has an excellent reputation for both. my Honda will run my coleman roof top air on my 1992 Winnie warrior, as long as I am not using another major draw device(like a coffee pot , electric skillet, etc.). your shore power cord can be plugged into the genset 110/120 outlet (s) with a commonly found "plug adapter", hope this helps, joe from dover.
  4. I am screwed, they want the barcode from each box the shocks came in. boxes went to the land fill months ago. joe from dover.
  5. my 2 cents on this...... as I am sure you are already aware, a leaking roof can be the worst imaginable nightmare for these rigs. I had my entire roof replaced last year. cost nearly 5k. and took the shop months to get it back to me. I would only use a product specific for rv use. not suggesting the product you are considering would NOT work. but why gamble when the rv industry have developed roof products that are guaranteed to provide you with a leak proof roof when applied correctly. I would vote to pass on this silicone product. just my opinion of course. joe from dover
  6. I DON'T REALLY GIVE A HOOT IF ZEP RECOMMENDS THEIR FLOOR POLISH FOR MH'S OR NOT. IT WORKS. JOE FROM DOVER
  7. looks the same as my 92 warrior. they are original. joe from dover
  8. mark came to my place and "schooled" me on the step by step for zep. my 92 warrior has the solid fiberglas side panels. although in really nice shape, once we were finished with the zep process the rig is fantastic looking. applied 6 coats. I will post some before and after pics soon. as far as I know, the zep is only used on fiberglas, not metal. a big thank you for mark's assistance. joe from dover.
  9. as far as the cleaning and protecting the rubber roofs, the guys at the rv shop that installed my new roof last year, instructed me how to keep it in new, tip top condition they recommended a twice a year cleaning with a product called "BIO KLEEN", it is a cleaner and UV protectant in one, on line research revealed, it is made in Michigan, the company has a wide range of RV products. the msrp is $34.99 per gallon (one gallon is enough for two cleanings on my rig). I found the bio kleen rubber roof product at a closeout store for $12.99 a gallon, the store only had two, I bought both. joe from dover.
  10. donttreadonme, I got the same offer from shockwarehouse, but several emails to them later, and still have not received my $40.00 rebate. if you get the rebate, please describe what you did to get it. at this point not sure what to do. thanks in advance. joe from dover.
  11. my 92 warrior had a new rv dealer installed roof last year. the original was the aluminum sheet. the rv shop used rubber to cover the new roof structure. definitely an upgrade. the old metal had the pin holes and started to leak. was lucky, caught it before any water damage to the coach occurred. joe from dover
  12. Darrel, I have a 92 warrior, I get identical avg. mpg. 12.5-- sometimes I've got 13 and sometimes 12. mostly it is right at 12.5. as far as driving choices, I prefer staying off the interstate as much as possible. I have no urgency to get anywhere anymore. to me the journey to the destination, is just as rewarding as the destination. I want to enjoy the scenery afforded by NOT being on interstates. slow down, have fun, get there safe. repeat. joe from dover.
  13. I see you are in Louisville, ky. I will be going there for the national jugband music jubilee in September.
  14. I have a 92 warrior, replaced all clearance lights with incandescent because led's were 3x as much money. but, I found a website for led's, I believe it is LEDLIGHTS.COM, and their led clearance lights were under $5.00 each. good luck. joe from dover.
  15. what a great story. I am sure you will telling your story around many future camp fires. good luck, welcome, and keep us posted on your progress, the pics were awesome. joe from dover
  16. I put the KYB's on about two months ago. Front and rear. My 91 Warrior has 54k. purchased online @ shockwarehouse, less than 140.00 for all four. Free shipping. joe from dover
  17. hey there, very interesting repair concept. I have been involved with construction/woodworking/homebuilding and cabinet making for close to 50 years. don't really see a down side to this method. if it survives the "test of time", it sure beats all the labor intensive traditional methods of floor reconstruction. I hope this lasts a long time for you. good luck, and great job, thanks for the pics. joe from dover.
  18. I am not a cheer leader for the insurance companies. as I discussed with mark, from the insurance company point of view, say you suffered a front end collision-- where in the hell are the insurance companies supposed to find new hood, fenders, grille, bumper, etc. for your (example) 1986 Toyota ?? even if nos or repops exist , they are not obligated to search for those hard to find parts, an insurance company wants a filed claim off their books asap. that is what an adjuster is paid to do, settle the claim as fast as possible, and I might add with the least cost to the insurance company, so how is that goal achieved??? total out your vehicle. I am not suggesting I agree with any of what I stated, but it is reality. if the insurance company "totals" your vehicle, you can (in Ohio) opt to "purchase" said vehicle back from the insurance company. usually they will sell it back to you for the same amount they will pay you for the "totaled" value. you can then apply for a "salvaged" title. once you have made repairs for road worthiness, and passed an inspection by the state (at least this is Ohio's law). you will be issued the salvage title which is required to register the vehicle for plates. (oh and btw, buy insurance, ohio has mandatory vehicle insurance laws, what a joke -I still have to buy "uninsured motorist" coverage, because you do NOT need to show PROOF of insurance at the BMV when you A. renew your drivers license, or B. buy your plates! ) prospective buyers are usually very wary when you have a vehicle with a "salvaged" title for sale. bottom line is you get screwed, repeatedly. joe from dover
  19. HEY THERE, GREAT LOOKING DIAMOND PLATE !!! FROM PICS, APPEARS THE METAL CRAFTER IS VERY SKILLED. VERY NICE TOUCH, AND AS YOU STATED, "NO MORE STUPID LITTLE PLASTIC HOLDING THE EDGES TOGETHER" GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES WITH YOUR REBUID. JOE FROM DOVER
  20. great solutions for your problem. really like the exterior grab rail. joe from dover
  21. MARK AND I HAVE BEEN FRIENDS FOR DECADES. THIS IS HIS SECOND RIG. HE WAS INFECTED WITH THE "BUG" AFTER SEEING A REALLY NICE OLDER RIG IN A PARKING LOT NEAR MY CABIN IN SOUTHERN OHIO. HE HAS PERFORMED A SPECTACULAR RENOVATION OF HIS BELOVED "GRANNIE". HE HAS LITERALLY DONE EVERYTHING !! I AM SO PROUD OF HIS INTERIOR REDO. I AM A RETIREDTRIM CARPENTER/CABINET MAKER. AND HIS ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS WELL RECOGNIZED AND APPLAUDED. HE HAS DONE A FANTASTIC JOB AND THE PRAISE WOULD BE VALIDATED EVEN IF HE WERE NOT MY VERY BEST TOYOTAMOTOR HOME BUDDY, HE REMAINS TOTALLY INTO HIS RIG. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT OTHER "IMPROVEMENTS" HE COULD POSSIBLY MAKE TO HIS RIG, BUT I KNOW HE WILL COME UP WITH SOMETHING. WHICH BEGS THE QUESTION, AS HIS BEST FRIEND, SHOULD I TRY TO FIND A REHAB PROGRAM FOR HIM ?, HE OBVIOUSLY NEEDS HELP ! LOL. GREAT LOOKING RIG MARK. JOB WELL DONE. JOE FROM DOVER.
  22. THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR TRIP. WOULD LOVE TO DO WHAT YOU ARE DOING. STAY SAFE AND LOVE ALL THE PICS. THANKS. JOE FROM DOVER.
  23. IN MY NON EXPERT OPINION , even with the miles being extremely low, i think 13k is really pricey. how old are tires ? all appliances work ? etc. etc. you are always going to put some amount of $$$ in these rigs post purchase. good luck and best wishes. joe from dover.
  24. LOOKS GREAT, WILL BE DOING MY RIG SOON. THANKS FOR SHARING. JOE FROM DOVER
  25. HAVE A GREAT AND SAFE ADVENTURE. LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR FUTURE TRIP REPORTS & PICS !! JOE FROM DOVER
