  1. Here are links to the last 2 Sunrader conversions Both were left hand drive, V6 Petrol , Auto trans, 2WD Now they are both 4wd , 3000cc turbo diesel 1kzte type engines, one was auto , one was manual box, both now right hand drive. And many other upgrades for freedom camping etc in New Zealand http://www.cmooremotors.co.nz/91_sunrader_18ft.htm http://www.cmooremotors.co.nz/92_4x4_sunrader_auto.htm Cheers Cary
  2. just did some new pics, not finished but close http://www.cmooremotors.co.nz/91_sunrader_18ft.htm
  3. I have built this one to keep myself happy, the factory 2.8 diesel engines were only just OK, but these 3000cc turbo diesel engines really move and i like to have that extra power when i want to use it.
  4. We used only parts from the Surf like the front fenders and grill from the exterior, Then the engine and gear box for the driveline, The chassis is the factory Sunrader one.
  5. The front is another change we made, the factory front looked a bit plain so we gave it the surf front and guards, Still a 4 cylinder not a 6cyl
  6. Engine and box are from a 95 Hilux surf KZN130 so is a 1KZ 3000cc turbo diesel, the same surf was used for the rhd conversion parts changing complete firewall etc, rear diff mod was factory diff with the ends chopped and landcruiser fully floating rear hubs welded in and new axles modified for the job, I would never trust all that leverage on a diff of a dual wheel system where the axle takes the weight so we always change the rear diff, it just got LED lighting throughout, new solar panel, (flexi 180w panel) new oven, all the outside marker lights have been changed for LED. I will update the pics later when she is closer to finished. I am sure it will sell for less than $60k but why start with a low ball price when people will still offer even lower prices. The right person will love this camper even if overpriced.
  7. It is not here to sell, it is here to view another 4x4 Sunrader with some very handy modifications, It is now in New Zealand and right hand drive etc so no good for the USA but very good for NZ roads and off roads.
  8. Latest Sunrader 4WD goes really well http://www.cmooremotors.co.nz/91_sunrader_18ft.htm

  10. Yes we got rid of the 2.4 non turbo diesel engine and fitted a 1KZ engine, very nice power and torque, the diff was made up from 2 diiffs, we sliced off the fully floating hubs from a 88 landcruiser diff and welded them up to the factory diff housing and had 2 new axles made up. Hope that helps. Cheers Cary
  11. The pop top has a special design the way it sits and never leaks when it's down even when it is very windy but pick a good night for it to stay up overnight. It has A/C fittings in the cab but never fitted the unit onto the engine, may be later. The 3 knobs there are for fresh water tank switching, there are 2 fresh tanks and provision for another under one of the rear seats.
  12. Are yes the diff, This time we Got a complete 60 series Landcruiser fully floating diff but they have an offset diff head so we sent it to the machine shop and they cut the diff housing to remove both ends and did the same to the factory weak diff and welded the fully floating hubs on to the standard diff, he did need to make up 2 new axles as well but much cheaper way for us this time as we were able to keep the diff head that matched, so we were able to use the alloy dual wheel adapter plate and original rear wheels. As for the engine it is from a KZJ95 toyota Prado and the gear box is from a KZN130 surf as the drive shaft going forward on the prado is on the wrong side, Not sure about economy yet.
  13. This is our latest project finished, Toyota Hilux Global Galaxy 4x4 http://www.motorhomesforsale.co.nz/88_hilux_4x4_camper.htm Goes very well with a Toyota Prado engine in there. Cary
  14. Yes when we park in a township we need to get in through the side door on the traffic side but wasn't as bad as we thought it would be, mostly we stopped off road or places with nearly no traffic, most of the campers we get from Japan are made for the Japanese market in America and they are LHD but the entrance door is on the left side, that is great for us after it's converted to RHD but when I saw this one come up in Jap auction the entrance door problem was minor compared to the find of a rare vehicle
