SCRIPAL
Any thoughts on whether air bags should be inflated or deflated during winter time storage?
Derek up North
Keep at least a bit of pressure in them. As for whether to reduce pressure for storage, I guess you'll get the most qualified recommendation by contacting the manufacturer/supplier (Firestone? Airlift?) linda s
I would leave them inflated close to max. Cold will reduce the bag size and most of them lose some air over time. Also a fully inflated bag won't have folds where water could get in and freeze. Might cause some problems there too Linda S
Vanman
Leaving the bags inflated low will not be kind to your leaf springs, ours say 20# min and 90# max. I rest it at 90, running is lower depends on load.
jjrbus
Interesting question, never thought of it. I have always left my bags inflated, same as my tires. JIm
Bob C
My air bags loose a couple of psi per day and I can't find the cause. To avoid the bags getting creases and weakening, I place a my jacks under the RV whenever I have it parked, even for a few days. It may just be my imagination, but I think it also helps my springs take on more of an upward arc.
