Borden23
Was just curious why it won't go over 55 mph. It's a 4-cylinder engine. What would be the common problems that make it not able too go over 55 mph? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!
MontanaChinook
Well, has it ever been to a mechanic? Has it ever had a tuneup? Do you do any routine maintenance?A full tuneup (wires, plugs, distributor cap, rotor, change all fluids - tranny and rear diff included-, adjust timing, adjust valves, air filter, fuel filter).Make sure the brakes aren't dragging, and wheel bearings are good.Make sure the catalytic converter isn't clogged.EFI or carburetor? If that stuff all checks out, then you want to do a compression test. How many miles are on it?

We had this problem with our dolphin and it was the catalytic, but that doesn't seem too be the problem with our Granville. ill check all that out thank you! Any other tips? Back East Don
Here is a specific site for the Toyota 22RE engine trouble codes. Has a bunch of info but suggest you not overlook all the other stuff first.
