fred heath
Just purchased a White/Rodgers 12V heat only thermostat to replace existing factory unit. My old thermostat has no anticipator setting that I can find. The gas valve also has no label. This unit is missing any ID labels. It is 1979 vintage and in a 16' coach under the fold out bed. My question is, how crucial is this setting? Is there a default setting? The new thermostat anticipator is adjustable from 0.15 to 1.2 amps. Thanks for the help. Maineah
What I would do with it Fred is play with it. Unless you know the current draw of you heating systems thermostat circuit it's a guess any way. You could check it with an amp meter between the thermostat wires and match the thermostat setting to match. What it will do is vary the temp setting and in a MH it's probably best to have it as wide as it will go so that is does not cycle as often. Just start in the middle if it cycles too often move it towards the 1.2 amp setting a bit at a time until it meets your approval.
