Resealing/caulking the trim on 89 Odyssey

All,

As you may be able to see the trim is coming off on one side and I want to redo it, the other side is ok but looks sloppy. The last photo I included because the fiberglass near the bumper and in a couple other spots is not attached to the wood underneath, not sure if that is normal or if I need to bond it together. Not sure how I would even get under there unless I took the whole fiberglass back off.

So for the siding I need to remove it and then use butyl tape and some caulk? Many types of caulk and think I may go OSI. Just wanted some recommendations from those who have done this.

Best,

Patrick

Hey Patrick

the most important thing is to try to reuse your old corner molding

try to take off with out bending them keeping them as original in shape

as you can.

hopefully you can get the screws out(some screws might be rusted-out careful when pulling out

you don't want to bend your corner molding..

new corner moldings are a pain n the azz to bend new ones (you will have to cut the molding to bend)

then clean all the gunk off molding and rv (make sure its supper clean)and use a good silicon..

I like 3m (I used 3m 5200 marine grade) I had to use a gas rag to get clean (CAREFUL BOOM!!!)

they also make a good uv silicon...

your bottom siding is coming off because water has ate away your screws

when corner molding is off you might want to look at how bad water damage is

if not to bad you might be able to gorilla glue fiberglass back to rv frame..
