new RVowner
Hello everybody, I own a 1985 toyota rader 21 foot mini motorhome by toyota and i love it. Now thats its almost ready for the maiden voyage, I have one question. The tires that are on the rv right now are 195 75 r14 I would like to buy new tire all the way around, Is there any tires out there that you like and are using for your motorome? if anybody could provide a name and price to give me an idea of what i would need to replace all 6 on my motorhome. thank you
Dolphinite no longer here
The only tires to get are 185 R 14, load range D. I know that Yokohama makes a tire in this size. Its model 356, I think, and they usually run about $100 more or less. Be sure and shop around as the prices for these tires do vary. Other tire sizes will fit but the sidewalls tend to make contact on the duals causing them to wear prematurely and, maybe go flat. Derek up North
Yokohama Y356, Hankook RA08, Continental Vanco2, Nexen SV820. Shop around. You should be able to get them for ~$100 each, out the door.

Switching them to 185's ? Edited May 2, 2012 by new RVowner
noonesperfect
I have the same rig and it had the same size tires as yours when I bought it a couple years ago. I replaced the tires with the Hankooks with no negative consequences. I have noticed that the ride is smoother and quieter, and the odometer reads very close to the same as with the old tires. brad Thanks guys This is an awesome forum for help I will buy the 185 75 r14 (load rating d) The 195's on there now, This should not be a problem right? linda s
No you are not looking for 185/75/14. You will not find those in a D load range. You are looking for 185r14. It is a taller tire. Look only for Continental Vanco 2, Hankook Ra08, Yokohama y356. Nexen sv820. There are some other brands but must be 185r14. No middle number LS Thanks guys This is an awesome forum for help I will buy the 185 75 r14 (load rating d) The 195's on there now, This should not be a problem right? Switching them to 185's ? new RVowner
Thanks guys for all the infomation. I just checked again, and the tires that are on this thing now are firestone 440 or something 195 85 r 14 M&S (Front) firestone 440 or something 185 85 r 14 M&S (Back) I think they put the wrong tires on this when i bought it from the guy. I think the tires that he put are there are car tires. (Good thing i have not driven it since i bought it 1 year ago) (Safety first you know) Edited May 2, 2012 by new RVowner
Derek up North
I'm not sure what a Firestone 440 is. Not a model I'm familiar with. In the 'fine print' molded on the tire it'll indicate a maximum Load Carrying Capacity and Maximum Pressure. Load Range C is 1600lbs @ 50psi, Load Range D is 1875lb @ 65psi.
