daveemac
My mechanic is estimating 3+ hours to *check* my rear brakes. Is that reasonable? If I do it myself, what's the fastest/easiest way? Thanks! Edited May 25, 2023 by daveemac clarity
linda s
Deserted place or road , parking lot? Try stopping your rig with emergency brake only. Emergency brake is rear braking only. No bad sounds and stops quickly and evenly your good. At home take wheels off one side at a time and check for fluid leaks on back of hub too. There is a little hole in the back that your supposed to be able to see if there is surface left on the shoes but I've never been able to see squat there. Maybe if you clean it up with some kind of swab first and super bright flashlight. Linda S
mpanzar
3 hours is reasonable. both axle shafts need to be removed to pull the drums.
