Rock Auto has  a reman Denso for $76 + $34 core charge...they have new ones (not Denso) from $84 with no core charge.

Back in the good old days there were shops that specialized in rebuilding auto electrics, starters, alternators.   They are still around just a  harder to find.  If I had an issue I would have mine redone.

Yes, I was looking into rebuilding them but I had my doubts as to the quality of the replacement that a previous owner had used.

I would not rebuild one of dubious quality,  only an OE Toyota
