  1. not the subject your talking about, but does this trans have a speed sensor, and if so where is it located in 1985 a43d?
  2. Doing a valve job on an engine often causes it to burn oil, I'd at the lease have the rings replaced and as long as you have it apart may as well replace main and rod bearings and oil pump.
  3. Checkout state parks for so. Illinois there are a lot of them and some can be reserved. Cave in rock, sounds really good they have everything for lazy camping.
  4. I was doing some research on camping in So. Illinois, There is a national forest there with dispersed camping. It is called Shawnee National Forest, Dispersed camping (boon docking) is free up to 14 days, the center of the eclipse almost passes right over it. There is a fare amount of camping space at Tower Rock Campground, which is on the Ohio river, GPS (37degrees 27' 28.56" N and 88 degrees 13' 45.42" W) there are toilets but thats about it. But it looks like it would accommodate 10 to 15 units its first come first served. Just saying its an option if we can't find anything else.
  5. Is anyone planning a midwest Aug. 21 Toy rally for the total solar eclipse?
  6. The walmart campground is always open and free.
  7. I've seen commercials on TV for new small cpaps made for camping, they have there own rechargeable batteries. I don't remember the brand but you maybe able to find it on line. hope this helps
  8. You said that you run your computer on house battery, Does the house battery have an inverter to run 110ac?
  9. I have a 85 Sunrader and its has the diaper on it, I think it was standard equipment on the 85 Toyota. It may have rotted and fell apart at some point.
  10. check on e-bay I bought a cd with the manual for my 85 Sunder there for $20
  11. Thanks for all the help Linda You've been great. If I ever get to outer space i'll look you up!
  12. I've been thinking, (always dangerous) put unit in rv and studied the issue, I think i'm going to do exactly what Linda S did in hers. It just seems to make sense and I don't have to do anything to the Sunrader that would be expensive to repair. Thanks for all the good advice, a real thank you to Linda S
  13. Thanks WME I appreciate all the info you have given on here, keep on RVing!
  14. I know it's on the large size, was going to buy a smaller unit, but this was a better unit and I got it for less money . I have a 3 season room I will use it in, I may find a smaller a/c for my sunrader. I have until spring to think about it. Guess there's no big hurry! Does anyone know how big of genny it takes to run a 14,000 btu a/c unit?
  15. The vents will be closed and recirculating the inside air, and the unit I have has a 2 hose setup, like I said it's a really nice unit. The one hose takes out the hot air, the other brings in fresh air from outside which will be hot air. The unit I got is the top of the line SOLEUS-AIR model number LX-140/LX-140BL. It has a removable panel so it will circulate the inside air.
  16. OK maybe cutting a hole not a good idea, did some investigating I think I can vent it out the top grate for the refrigerator. I will bolt the hose adapter right to the grate itself. Don't think the unit I have will fit in cab, really heavy and quite large. But thanks for the advise Linda! Hope this works, I'm planing on using the A/C, heater and dehumidifier unit, which is what this is in our 3 season porch when not camping.
  17. I'm trying to come up with an alternative to roof a/c, it's to expensive. I found a used roof unit on craigslist for $300.00 and it's at least 100 miles away. I found and bought a 3 year old $450.00 portable unit for $80.00 it's like brand-new. I have a rear dinette Sunrader 21' has really good size closet amidship, thought I could cut an exhaust hole through the back of the closet and through the fiberglass to vent it outside. I wound then cut to hole through the closet door and add some screening to let the air flow out to the camper, 115acv is just to the rear of closet, just need a hole to run cord through. Unit also has 1400 btu heating in it. Has anyone else tried anything similar to this, and does anyone have some better ideas?
  18. I think I have it figured out,I can glue in a piece of 3" O.D. pipe in the broken off flange opening. Then put on a slip fit flange to bolt the new valve on to then I'm home free! And I don't have to remove the tank. Yah!
  19. If there is a slow leak, and you have to recharge every spring, not a big deal with propane. (just saying) Still not promoting this.
  20. Think a couple cans on the rear bumper dangerous, the Jeeps in WWII had the gas tank in the passager compartment right under the drivers seat. But they were also getting shot at, so the gas tank under the seat probably not a big deal.
  21. I have nothing to add to this, but in a related issue my black water tank has the valve broken off (that way when I bought it) any ideas on how to attach some kind of replacement valve?
  22. I'm not promoting this idea, just saying that I saw it, It's an option if all else fails. "User beware of what could happen" There is gasoline under the hood also, which is highly explosive.
  23. Instead of 132a refrigerant or because you can't get R-12 any more, go to youtube how to videos. People are charging R-12 units with propane, it cool the same as R12 but is almost free, I know it sounds dangerous but just watch the vids. You don't use that much and I believe that refrigerant is also explosive.
