  1. All the screen houses I’ve seen are not straight up but have a slant to them. You can still set them up so close to the coach door that there is no gap. Never seen one perfectly square. Good Luck and have Fun!
  2. That’s Perfect G! I use the plastic 5 gallon container (less weight) on the rear and had a friend make a spare 6 lug tire carrier that also carries my 5 lug spare all welded to the frame similar to yours. Nice setup Man!
  3. I bought a Coleman Screen House from Walmart. It’s 10X10. Easy one person setup. Light enough to move while set up so you can move the camper if needed. Set it next to the camper door and can walk right into the screen house. Has big zippers on both sides. Perfect!
  4. Yep, that’s what I meant about factory installed hitch. Installed by the RV maker not Toyota. Also Joe’s Winnie does bottom out sometimes with the cargo carrier attached but ya sure can carry a lot of stuff on it!
  5. Try what Linda suggested. My buddy Hunkaman has a 92 Winnie with a factory installed hitch and he uses the Harbor Freight carrier to carry spare gas and such. My Granville has a factory extension on the rear and I also carry a 5 gallon gas container along with my Honda 2000i. Would Hate to run out of gas with no cell coverage!
  6. I agree with Bob! He basically taught me how to drive the 22RE.....shift a lot. I can easily cruise @ 65 on flat ground!
  7. You won’t be getting 18 to 20 mpgs that’s for sure!
  8. Hey C, you can find my “Magic of Zep” under Topics in my profile page.
  9. Hey ham, do you have backup lights? Didn’t notice any? It appears you have some type of “Reflect-O-Lite” fixture on your rig. Unfortunately they aren’t made anymore. Will be impossible to find an exact fit for a replacement fixture you have. I’d buy a replacement LED fixture like Bob did. Might have to make a backing plate if your old fixture hole is to big. I don’t believe that would solve you problem though. Like Maineah said you have a ground problem that needs to be fixed first? Good Luck!
  10. Check out my post “The Magic of Zep” If you decide to do this you will be amazed @ the results! The hard part is completely cleaning your rig. Enjoy!
  11. Hey Derek yes the bypasses were factory installed! My Granville was very well made probably why they went out of business Lol. What I mean by the fresh water tank bypass is a brass valve that turns and stops the pump from withdrawing water from the fresh water tank and you connect the supplied hose and draw RV antifreeze from the jug to winterize the rig. Not sure what this system is called.
  12. I was referring to those that don’t have a way to use air pressure to clean out the lines. I also have the factory water heater bypass and fresh water tank bypass on Grannie. Needs about 1.5 gallons to winterize. I highly recommend installing the bypasses. The money you save buying less antifreeze will pay for the bypasses quickly!
  13. If your water heater is 6 gallons and no bypass wouldn’t you need @ least 6 gallons of antifreeze or more to winterize the entire system?
  14. Thanks Bob. You taught me how to drive the 22RE! I manually shift Grannie all the time now. It’s fun and seems to improve gas mileage. Better than letting the engine bog down before the tranny shifts.
  15. Yea I was a pissed they melted the lenses (only 2) and the lenses were in perfect condition. I suspect the LEDs I bought were for a car application and not for interior lighting.
  16. I bought the LEDs @ Autozone when they first started to be produced. Were Very Expensive! They were the round type with LEDs circling the fixture. Don’t have the packaging anymore. They weren’t that overly bright but were hot to the touch I latter found out! I like the bulbs much better.
  17. Well there you go ‘bro! Your lucky to have the resources you do. Sounds more doable now! Ever hear of a solar shower? It’s portable and you hang it on a branch or something. It gets really warm if you can lay it in the sun for awhile. I’m 6’4” so cannot use my shower inside. FYI.
  18. Welcome Not! Unfortunately like Fred stated your in for a shock! The rear axel needs to be upgraded to the 6 lug if you can find one. Big Bucks!! Engine repairs, tires, shocks, etc. will be very expensive. When I bought Grannie her coach was sound but all the repairs required to the engine and chassis costs me and extra $2500! She had very low mileage but dry rot took its toll over the years. There’s the possibility that the extensive repair bills will be more than your rig is worth. Something to consider before you get too involved. My guess is you could find another Toy with EFI in Much better condition than your current rig for less money after all the necessary repairs. So Good Luck and Enjoy whatever you decide.
  19. Nice pics WME! Made the same trip 4 years ago but not in my toy. BTW I sure wish Grannie had the panaramic front windows like in your rig!
  20. I agree Donnie but they sure did melt my lenses! Not sure what the wattage was on the LEDs. I’ve replaced the 3 fixtures that melted with self contained LEDs fixtures but the rest of My reflect-o-lites fixtures will keep the original bulbs and their soft warm light!
  21. I couldn’t find a replacement cover anywhere that had that nice dimpled cover like the original. I also like the soft warm look of the original bulbs. To each his own!
  22. I have the same fixtures in Grannie. I made the mistake of replacing the original bulbs with leds. After one light was awhile I noticed a melting area on the cover. Turns out the led melted the light cover which is impossible to replace as they don’t make them anymore. I had to buy new light fixtures which aren’t as well made and don’t have the cool retro look! I put back the original type bulb in all my other reflect-o-lite fixtures. Live and learn.
  23. Your wife will be with you in Spirit D! Go! Bless You and Enjoy your travels!
  24. I have the 22RE in my Granville. It exactly like J says. I never drive over 60. She handles that speed well but usually cruze @ 57. I normally down shift when approaching a hill to keep the engine from boggging down before it shifts itself. Fun to drive it this way. Like a stick shift. Very durable engine that loves to rev! Another consideration is the MPG’s. My buddy’s 6 gets 13. Grannie gets 15. Not much difference but on a long trip the 4 would save you $$. I live in Ohio. Has many hills but not much altitude. A couple of times I had to be in 1st gear to climb! The 4 will climb anything just not as fast. $2100 seem way to cheap to me but if true you could have the roof repaired and enjoy your rig for very little $$ if that’s all that’s wrong with it! I agree with MN highly doubtful coming down that much from 10K. Good Luck and let us know what you decide!
