  1. when i viewed the link, i thought i saw a section where flags representing countries and units either shipped or ordered for that country, and the stars and stripes was one listed. ??? available in USA ?? joe from dover
  2. thanks for link derek---really cool rigs. wonder how much $$$.
  3. I WAS ON THE GOV DEALS .COM WEB SITE, HAD SOMETHING VERY SIMILAR POSTED . IT WAS MADE BY HONDA AND BEING OFFERED FOR AUCTION BY A CITY PARKS DEPARTMENT IN WEST VIRGINIA. LOOKS VERY CLOSE TO THE HONDA. JOE FROM DOVER
  4. HI THERE AND WELCOME. YOU MAY CONSIDER A DETAILED INSPECTION BEFORE EMBARKING ON YOUR JOURNEY. POSSIBLY TO THE EXTENT OF HAVING A REPUTABLE MECHANIC HAVING A LOOK SEE. AT A MINIMUM, I WOULD SUGGEST TAKING EXTRA BELTS, HOSES, FLUIDS, AND BASIC REPAIR TOOLS. DATE CODES ON TIRES ARE VERY IMPORTANT. GOOD LUCK, HAVE A SAFE TRIP. JOE FROM DOVER.
  5. WME , thanks for that link, those appear to be a better quality than i bought. i really like the directional feature. joe from dover
  6. Derek, that is exactly what i discovered with my coach fixtures. po had used the brighter, and hotter, 1156 bulbs. this caused several of the fixture covers to have small "burnt" spots in them. i replaced all bulbs in my coach fixtures with LED, i chose the brighter k value. my eyes are not what they used to be. lol. of course the LED'S do not get as hot as non LED. and there is the added benefit of less battery draw. i figure a win-win.
  7. hi there, if you do replace all the screws with stainless, try and find an industrial hardware supply company to purchase your replacements. usually if you go to a lowes or home depot, you have to purchase blister packs and typically they are always in the wrong amount that you require and are expensive to buy. the place i went to was like an old time hardware store where you could buy a single screw or as many as needed. i believe i spent less than $20.00 for all the screws i replaced. most were just a few pennies each. the place i went to was not a chain store, but you may have luck at "fastenal" if you have one in your area. good luck. joe from dover
  8. thank you all for your comments and observations. i suppose the only way to confirm if the valve adjustment was performed at the time of the head gasket replacement, would be to obtain a copy of the service work order from the dealership that performed the work. i do know the name and location of the dealership and they are still in business, but if they would have a copy of the work order after all this time, and would also want to take the time to send me a copy is probably wishful thinking. i could give that a try. most likely i should be thinking of having the valves adjusted sooner than later, just to be prudent. i would still like to have an idea of how much this procedure should cost. joe from dover
  9. my 1992 warrior had the head gasket recall performed in 1998 . i verified this with the vin through toyota usa. at the time of the head gasket recall, it had between 12,800 and 13,500 miles on it. my question is would the valve adjustment be included as part of the head gasket job ? or not? i am NOT a mechanic so i apologize for my ignorance. my rig currently has 53k. if it is normal and customary to adjust the valves at the time of the head gasket replacement, should i assume that i would be looking at the next valve adjustment at 60k AFTER the head gasket job? (13k +60k = 73k ) or should i be thinking of having the valve adjustment performed sooner. (53k +7k = 60k) . can anyone who has had this done tell me what they paid for the adjustment? thanks in advance joe from dover.
  10. so sorry for you. will be praying that your rig is returned undamaged asap. joe from dover
  11. i have been searching a four county area in southern illinois for possible camp sites. those counties are, POPE, JEFFERSON, JACKSON, and SALINE. any of the campsites that direct me to reserve america for booking a site always come up saying no reservations are being taken until feb. 21 2017. in other words you can not reserve a site more than 6 months in advance. i have had some experience with reserve america in the past. it was not easy to book a reservation with them. i am still trying alternatives. joe from dover
  12. thanks sonny, i will do some research on "shawnee" and "tower rock". the first come first served policy is concerning to me though. i will be traveling about 500 plus miles one way and would really like to know i have a place to park when i get there. i am just guessing that this event will have a huge attendance being that it is something that does not happen very often coupled with it occurring during prime camping/vacation season. thinking out loud, i was wondering if any county fairgrounds in the area would be inclined to offer parking to view the eclipse? obviously i would not assume there would be hookups, but it would only be for a day or two. my vision of this being a great trip would be to have other toya mh owners gathered in one spot to camp/view the eclipse and meet and greet. contacting the right people to inquire about fairgrounds maybe worth a shot, who knows. if i get any info on this ,i will post what i found out. thanks. joe from dover
  13. hey there bufbooth, i posted about info for carbondale in an earlier post. i am very interested in going for the eclipse. because your post mentioned you have a house in the area, can you offer any place that may allow an overnite spot to park (no hook ups needed) my winnie? i am planning to do this with a friend, kind of a "bucket" list thing for us lol. i have researched camp sites near carbondale (rend lake, crabtree lake ) , and they do not seem promising as far as reserving one. you are welcome to my phone number or email if you have info and would prefer to respond personally. thanks in advance. joe from dover
  14. those "pin holes" that linda s mentioned, was the beginning of the end of the roof on my 92 warrior. from your pic your metal looks fine. the advice from linda s and markwilliam should give your roof a long leakless life. good luck. joe from dover
  15. thanks for the additional info and links. i found some info on the web also. i am amazed at the amount of different platforms and configurations these motorhomes were produced. until about a year ago i had no idea this world existed. i have rapidly developed a passion to know as much as i can about our world of toyaMH, thanks. joe from dover
  16. really cool pics, thanks for posting..... is the third one down in production currently ? it looks really new. and i assume the others are all older toyota models ? are these all 4WD ? thanks for any additional info. joe from dover
  17. was a "scat' a popular version ? have any more specific info to share?? from photo--- looks really tall. also appears to be all fiberglas ?? just curious. thanks joe from dover.
  18. Found this pic on web, supposed to be a 1977 Toyota MH. Is this real ??
  19. WME seems to have the solution. because of my experience with having to replace my entire roof i know that keeping water from finding its way into your MH is paramount. the repair shop that replaced my roof installed all new trim strips and on the flatter portions put like a gutter type of strip. fortunately i should have no issues. as WME stated he replaced the trim strip screws with stainless, i also replaced any exterior screw on the coach with stainless when i first got my warrior. maybe i was anal ..but for the small price i thought it would be a good thing to do. joe from dover
  20. "WONDER WHAT THE ANTENNA WAS FOR ?" COULD IT HAVE BEEN FOR TV RECEPTION ?? MY 91 WARRIOR HAD A CRANK UP TV ANTENNA THAT I ELIMINATED WHEN I HAD A TOTALLY NEW ROOF INSTALLED THIS SUMMER.I AM NOT A TV PERSON, THEREFORE WAS NO BIG DEAL TO LOSE THIS OPTION , ALSO ELIMINATES ANOTHER POSSIBLE LEAKAGE POINT IN THE ROOF. JOE FROM DOVER.
  21. I HAVE USED THE LUCAS BRAND "E" FUEL ADDITIVE FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS. PREVIOUSLY I WAS USING THE REGULAR LUCAS FUEL ADDITIVE. THE "E" VERSION IS A FORMULA THAT COMPENSATES FOR THE CORN DERIVED ALCOHOL THAT IS ADDED TO THE GASOLINE. SEEMS TO WORK. I USE IT IN EVERYTHING, ALL SMALL ENGINES AS WELL AS MOTORCYCLES, AND TRUCKS. IT CLAIMS TO BE A MILEAGE ENHANCER, DRYING AGENT, AND FUEL STABILIZER ALL IN ONE. A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY. IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY, A TEN OR TWELVE OUNCE BOTTLE TREATS ABOUT 80 GALLONS OF FUEL. JOE FROM DOVER
  22. BEAUTIFUL PICS BTW, HOW DOES YOUR RIG HANDLE DRIVING ON SNOW COVERED ROADS ? ANYTHING TO BE AWARE OF OTHER THAN EMPLOYING COMMON SENSE DRIVING TECHNIQUES AS WITH OTHER VEHICLES ?
  23. THANKS "DEREK" YOU SEEM TO BE THE "GO TO" GUY FOR ANSWERING A LOT OF MY QUESTIONS LATELY. SERIOUSLY, THANK YOU. I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH HERE WITH YOUR POSTS AND THE MANY OTHERS THAT REALLY KNOW THEIR TOYOTA MH FACTS. I REALLY APPRECIATE ALL THE HELP YOU ALL OFFER TO ALL OF US "NEWBIES" THAT ARE TRYING TO EDUCATE OURSELVES. JOE FROM DOVER
  24. THE FIRST SEVERAL POSTS ON THIS THREAD REFER TO THE WINNEBAGO WARRIOR AS A "TOYE", IS A "TOYE" A SPECIFIC MODEL FROM A "REGULAR" WINNIE WARRIOR ? AND IF SO WHAT CONSTITUTES THE DIFFERENCE ? HOW WOULD ONE KNOW IF THEY OWN A "TOYE" VERSUS A "REGULAR" WARRIOR ? THANKS IN ADVANCE. JOE FROM DOVER
