    Hi

    Thank you for the photos of your spare Tire solution. Trying to understand I have Few questions:

    1. The metal frame you designed, is welded to the chassis ??

    2. How do you maneuver heavy tire up and down as it is quite heavy.

      I do not want to be welding under the RV so is bolted in.  There is a lip on the front cross member that it sits on and is bolted.  The thickness of the material on the rear cross piece is fairly thin so definitely do not want to weld on that.

       

      In the driveway I maneuver the tire with some wood and a floor jack.  I am looking for something to attach that one side of the tire can be set on and then lift the other end.  Or some simple lift or lever. Keeping in mind I have not had to use a spare tire in years so not way up on the priority's list.

       

        In the meantime I have ERS so will let someone younger than me do the heavy lifting.

    Hey Dave we were referring to the hitch you added and wondering what happened to you?

      I got lucky and only worked for 2 companys over the years, the Erie Lackawana and then the Delaware and Hudson.  When the Erie went into Conrail I was able to bid on a D&H job and stayed there till I got put out to pasture.

    your sea breeze and my dolphin where made in paris calif by national r v . I have the org books 1987 no decters of any kind listed . I installed a 20 dollor walmart co detecter and a smoke alarm. still have org factury fire ext. but installed 2 more.

    you cant see the weld puddle do you have cataracts . I did had them removed 3 years ago. could no longer see  a screw head .63 now worn trifocals since 46 still wearing them. have used welding helmet cheater lens before. see to weld now pretty good since eye surgey but hand not so steady.

      Last eye exam they did not say anything about cataracts?  Plus I do not have enough use for a welder to buy one and no extra room for it..      Thanks Jim

    I get your thought on ac very humid where you live much dryer and hotter in eastern wash st 110 deg common here low er humid desert

      I did not realize that it got that hot there.   The high 90's with 89% humidity in Florida is just miserable.  Jim
