  1. One helluva thread. Hope he lets us know the final outcome. I'm glad he's on the road!
  2. I talked with the gentleman again who owns it. It has single wheels on the rear. I think the price is kinda high too. It does look all original and he says everything works. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to send the Craigslist link! It's on Medford-Ashland Oregon Craigslist, rv section
  3. Oops, posting removed from CL. Too late!
  4. I called a couple of days ago, The guy who has it got it from a friend who moved to New Zealand. The current owner also knows the guy who had it prior to that. He said it quit running out of the blue, they tried gas in the carb as well as ether, no luck. Electrical maybe? It looks like a deal. I live about 425 south of him in Or. I thought about taking a trailer up but don't have time.
  5. I know this is an older thread but I have to respond. I took that road from I think Smith River Ca. to O'Brien OR a few months ago in my 2012 ram 4x4. This is one of the worst roads I have ever taken anywhere. I didn't get lost but just about had to rock crawl in many places, it was hell. There where very steep drop offs everywhere. I had to stop and push small boulders and rocks off the road and they rolled and crashed down the bank a very long way! I live in Selma about 18 miles north of O'Brien. I can't even imagine a Dolphin trying to make it. Thank goodness you guys made it.
  6. I talked with a gentleman today that has this Toyhome, it looks like the Gypsy I found but a little different. He says the manufacturer decal up on the sleeper says 'Newport". There is a manufacturer plate/decal that he can't make out. The Newport's I see online are way different and made of fiberglass. He also says it has factory scissor levelers under the back corners and under the cab doors (see pic). Any thoughts?
  7. I found a 1978 Gypsy. He wants 5k. Has 97k miles, pics look good. I might have a look. Were many made? Also has "Rec air" Some kind of swamp cooler that also runs on 12 v.
  8. Hello all, I've found a 1978 Gypsy (by LuJo)with 97k miles. I called the owner and he said it has a 'free floating one ton rear end with 3 u joints.' I did a few searches and can't find an answer to my question; Did some motorhome manufacturers order trucks with one ton rear ends in 1978? Also do all one ton rear ends have 6 lugs or were there 5 lug one ton rear ends also. He wasn't near the rig too look at how many lugs it has. He also said it had 'Rec air', some type of small swamp cooler that runs on 120 and 12 volt. I wish I knew more on the subject.
  9. Thanks for the comments, don't do a Google image search for "scat". You will become confused and dismayed!
  10. My Scat doesn't have the large window, think there where 2 models?
  11. I went to the link, it says it's been 'moved from the yard'. Hope someone got it!
