  1. They do some really nice work. Do they put in new ovens and stoves? Or do they have some magic stainless cleaner!! - mine could use some help. My Burner stove cover broke off and the stainless is showing its age.
  2. I got the job done! Replaced everything with two 25' foot rolls of black trim. I counted in all 19 extra holes WITH NO SCREWS in them. They didn't even bother to plug them up with sealant!! If your a Sunrader owner I'd highly recommend replacing your trim - I found many areas where heavy NW rains allowed water to seep in!! I replaced my screws with stainless and also added small rubber washers in areas where I had some leaking in the front and rear (both areas I had just replaced my interior panels) I took my panels off from the inside during some heavy rain and noticed 2 spots where they felt damp and small drips where coming in!! I added epoxy and cloth to these areas too from the inside. SO if you have a Sunrader, take a look at your trim. Shoddy workmanship at the factory!! 19 extra holes drilled into the walls all around my Sunrader and no attempt to at least fill them with sealant!! You think your windows leak - I beat you they are fine, and its your screws under that 25 year old trim piece! $30 bucks and 3-4 hours of work is well worth it. I used a small curved piece of sturdy plastic (epoxy stirring stick) to install mine. I inserted one end of the trim in the metal grove, and then placed my plastic tool in the opposite side and pushed it along the metal trim edge, and it forced the trim into place. Took me an hour of fussing with my first piece to figure this out!! The black looks good on my camper, I'll add a pic next chance I get.
  3. Anyone know where to get the exterior white plastic trim on the sunraders. It's the exterior piece that covers the screws and fits inside the metal railing. Joins the top and bottom fiberglass together. Mine is brittle and cracked. I took a piece off and found screw holes without some screws in them!! Now I know where my leak is from. Any ideas?
  4. Yup after scouting for river access and climbing up and down banks I always had my warm camper to retreat to. Yes Linda I've been exploring the peninsula for 18 years, and I haven't seen it all yet!
  5. Anybody used this stuff? I just used it to seal my LED rear lights from the inside! Works really well and I'd recommend it. We had a week of heavy rain and no leaks! Around 12 bucks at lowes.
  6. I did some creek scouting for future whitewater kayak trips this weekend. Drove into the Queets and Humptulips river basins. With weeks of heavy rains and our first overnight snow flury, my 4x4 came in very handy. There are plenty of dispersed camping spots in here. Reminds me of New Zealand and the coastal rainforest with moss lined trees. Bring firewood it's cold in here. The old bridges and signs also reminded me of the flick Deliverance!! Enjoy the pics.
  7. I heard of someone adding a Tundra rear axle on their Sunrader. I will tell you my stock 4x4 Sunrader is not an ideal 4x4 vehicle. Yes its great for what I call intermediate 4x4ing - such as impassable logging roads where 2wd vehicles cant go, or great for mountain passes in the winter and forest service roads for winter backcountry ski access. On rough 4x4 trials I have to drive very slow, much slower than my 4runner and jeep friends - they make me drive in the back of the convoy. Its height and length 18' makes it a little top heavy, and it tends to twist/sway more, but in low range I have crawled up some pretty steep slopes. It really excels on remote forestry roads with steep grades. Camping on a mtn peak is awesome. If I was you I'd buy an older Tacoma v6 4x4 and drop a chinook camper shell on it. I have a 94 Tacoma v6 4x4 that gets 29 mpg (in 2wd on the freeway) and I'm searching for a cheap nice Chinook shell to drop on it. That would be a great 4x4 camper machine indeed. Save you 7-8 grand too. But you need to do whats best for you.
  8. Badlands bumper, They r in wa state. U simply make an appointment over the phone and drive in and they install it in a hr or so. I helped install it. It's their secondary business they are welders. I'd thoroughly recommend them.
  9. Go for it man! They are great rigs for winter camping!! Give it a good hose down with fresh water when you get home. I winter ski out of my Rader. Its 4x4 but I camp with many 2wd rvs at ski resorts. After a year my wheels started to rust. I just refinished them ready for this season. Also insulate well or at least buy a reflective roll, I use this in my upper over-cab area.
  10. My buddy just bought a 89 v6 Sunrader with only 37,k miles on it! It sat for years. He just drove it to his new home near Portland, engine played up Toyota dealer says 2 injectors are blocked wants $1900 to replace all 6. He needs to know a reputable mechanic in the area? He's running some special oil through the gas to hopefully unclog them. He has time. He's asking for help. Once settled he will join our forum. Thanks.
  11. I too am envious. I'm living the 3 day weekend dream right now for the next ten years, then full time Sunradering is on my list!
  12. Daughter is 24. Renting the farm. I'm a lot older than 35 thanks for the compliment! Kids are 12 18 24 26. All love the Sunrader.
  13. I replaced mine with these. The top set of lights I drilled circles into diamond plate. The bumper lights I bought a set of already manufactured light boxes and had them powder coated.
  14. its 32" deep from top to bottom. Its 46" diagonal from bottom front corner to top rear corner. Its 12"x32"x32" My folding table, plus a folding chair, and room for firewood all fit in it!! Here is a pic of just my folding table easily inside it. $250 PM me if you are interested, its in Olympia WA. I'm often in Portland too.
  15. Good idea. I'll ask my buddy he has an industrial sewing machine.
  16. I have one for Sale! It came off my Sunrader and is in good shape. It's in Olympia WA State. Pm me if your interested. $250
  17. For you poor soles that don't have covered parking I am trying out an rv cover. Kind of spendy but I found one on sale. Hopefully it will last a few seasons, supposed to be mildew resistant, and breathable. Check out the pics. I can roll up the sides and access the rig from all doors! http://m.campingworld.com/shopping/item/classic-accessories-polypro-3-class-b-rv-cover-fits-20-23/60299
  18. keep us updated and take lots of pics! R you mating with a manual transmission by any chance?
  19. Gas leak all fixed, drove up to Ferndale WA, and camped out amongst the potato patches on daughters farm. Took a San Juan's beer cruise from Bellingham WA all the beer you can drink! Also did a bit of whitewater kayaking way down south on the White Salmon River - so my Sunrader has been to both WA State boarders (north and south) within a few weeks! Sunrader running great.

  21. Held up fine all winter. I have the original chrome rack on the roof that came with the camper. I simply bought a ski rack mount that clamps to the round bars.
