  1. 10 gauge wire for ten feet from charge controller to batteries ok?
  2. Got the panels installed! Still figuring out where to mount my charge controller? Supposed to be close to the batteries BUT my batteries are up front by the engine. I may mount the charge controller half way between panels and batteries. Any issue with this? I decided to bolt the panels, used butyl tape, covered bolt heads with dicore lap sealant then placed eternabond tape over that and sealed edges. Pic of through bolt from inside of my ceiling.
  3. Very interesting history, thanks for the link.
  4. Now I just need a Yoda for my dash!
  5. Maineah did a good job if I need to add onto my system I'll be stealing his design
  6. Here is a tiger provan 2002 double cab 4x4 with a Diesel engine! I was looking to buy one 2 years ago, this was the only one I could find and it was on the other side of the US from me. A Sunrader with some power!! Some day I'd like to put a 1kzte diesel motor in my Sunrader! The double cab is what I really wanted. Travel with more than two people is a downer in the Sunrader setup, as seating is at extreme ends of the rig, not ideal. But once at your destination the Rader is Great!!
  7. Anyone using some way to tilt your panels while up on the roof? I can see advantages in the winter months when the sun angle is low in the sky. Panels arrived today!
  8. I went through 4,5 LEDs for my rear white tail lights before I was happy. Yup I looked at doing the front lights and my wallet laughed at me!
  9. If you could find a used Tiger a motorhome that might fit your bill. I'd get the double cab model. Knew ones are seriously over priced http://www.tigervehicles.com
  10. This charge controller looks good and pretty cheap http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00MB0N8K6?vs=1 Even has a couple of USB charges built in. Should be good for the wall in my over cab area I returned it, wanted a charge controller/remote meter. See last post
  11. I'm thinking of just hooking my solar to just my house battery, I always isolate my batteries when boon docking with a switch on my dash. When driving I combine them for alternator charging. Still getting system together and it all new to me though.
  12. I've been watching these panels waiting for a sale price. $135 bucks each with free shipping so I snagged 2. Any one using them on their rv? Recommend a solar panel charge controller? Grape Solar GS-STAR-100W Polycrystalline Solar Panel, 100-watt https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CAVMMMG/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_exNovb127XZN1 I'll be doing a solar instal once I get my system together
  13. That orange beast needs to be out on the road! Nice job
  14. Nice storage box. I have a few of these fuel cans, they are really slim and will fit inside or you could bolt to each side of your box, they have locks. Check out Rotopax.com https://rotopax.com
  15. Yup it's a cool place, if your passing by, it's a must stop.
  16. I was disgusted with my water pump giving out! But when I pulled it the Shurflo pump date was 1986! Over 26 years of service!! Heck I went out and bought the exact same pump and Installed it. Man is it quiet.
  17. A quick father son trip to Grayland Beach south of Westport on the WA Coast. I return to this area over and over for many reasons: drive right onto the beach and find your own private spot to light a fire, cook hot dogs, and look out onto the Pacific. Reason 2 I don't like crowds and you can always find your own beach here. Reason 3 Greyland Beach State Park is close by to overnight camp. Reason 4 I kayak surf and my sons love to boggie board, fly kites, skim board and generally enjoy the beach. Not many places like this left in the USA!
  18. Im admiring your 73 travco. Looks like you have a private patio on the rear, very nice!
  19. That's what I thought. I'm in contact with the new owner and we are comparing rigs! Same year and engine.
  20. Just back from beach camping. new awning was great for shade, didn't need sunscreen.
  21. The salmon river (paddle down river and camp on a sand spit) and pacific city are a couple of my favorite spots. The ocean kayaking if you have skills is unbelievable!
  22. This rear axle off an 1987 extended cab 4x4 Sunrader (not mine) does not seem to have the 6 inner lug bolts and end nuts on the inside axle? Is this a full floater? See pic
  23. I like that dometic cabana. Wonder if you could easily detach and it be free standing, so you can zip off in your Sunrader and leave it at camp?
