Same here, the sealant had pulled away from two of the lights. I have found that a leak is rarely where you see the damage but is usually coming from another nearby location.

Does anybody know the thickness and composition of the flooring on an 89 Dolphin? Thanks

I have bought a Honda Moped (96 lbs.) that I want to take with me when I hit the road in my 89 Dolphin. Will a hitch advertised for an 89 Toyota pickup be the proper fit or will there have to be some alterations (welding) to make one work? Anybody on the site with experience in this area? Thanks

I purchased the same one for my Dolphin. The fit was not bad but the quality was terrible and it lasted for less than 2 winters.. The white top portion of the cover held up well but the rest was literally torn apart by wind. I would never recommend one of these things because of the poor quality and price. As Linda said, a good cotton tarp will provide better protection from rain and snow. I bought one and am very pleased with it and after one winter it still looks and works great.

The fresh water tank valve on my 89 Dolphin is very difficult to turn on and off and needs to be replaced. Is the 3/8" valve the correct size for the water line? Any help appreciated.

Each summer I make it a point to travel to Montana for a couple of weeks of trout fishing. This year on the way out, we had the opportunity to spend the night at an RV campground in Hardin, Montana. Upon check in, the proprietor told us that it just so happened we were there on the 141st anniversary of the battle of the Little Big Horn and that there was going to be a re-enactment later in the day.. We had previously been to the museum at the National Monument on the battle site but, had never been to a re-enactment so, we decided to attend. There must have been at least 1,000 people who attended and I must say that we thoroughly enjoyed the performance. We were particularly impressed with the horsemanship of the native American youth (Crow Nation) in the re-enactment. Whenever we take a trip in our Dolphin, I am always on the lookout for other Toys out there. In most instances, I rarely see any. This year was an exception. On our way to and back from Montana, I saw three, two of which were in Walmart/Sam's parking lots and one at a self serve gas pump. Sadly, all 3 were in pretty sad shape and in need of some TLC. In Wyoming, I spoke to the owner of a Dolphin and he was in the process of driving it home and starting a restoration. The one thing he was most pleased with was the engine/transmission performance and we all know that Toyota's are famous for that. Three sightings in a year is a new record for me and let's hope these owners fix them up and show them off!

I took mine to a small local shop that made and installed home counter tops out of various materials. Using the old one as a pattern, they made me one out of scrap pieces. It cost me $25.

I have been doing some repair work that has needed attention for some time. A few year's back I drove my Dolphin up a steep driveway and the rear end bottomed out. As a result, each end of the vinyl insert moldings below the back bumper was damaged. I am in the process of splicing in new pieces. Today, I observed pictures of Mark's Granville and noticed there appears to be an aluminum strip (molding) running the entire distance between the left and right rear molding strips and located beneath the rear bumper. Mine does not have this strip and I am wondering if it originally had one. Any help here?

Does anybody know where to buy a center brace for the roof ladder on an 89 Dolphin?

I had the same issue with the oven rattling in my Dolphin. I removed it and replaced the old counter top (trashed) with a new one which was extended to cover the void left behind. I put a shelf inside the newly created space and installed a cabinet door. The new space now nicely holds a 1.0 microwave which I place on the counter top when needed. I also have a one eye electric burner which I can use for frying.

A few weeks back, I posted a question regarding the intermittent flickering of my oil light at idle speed. Most of the responses I received pointed to the probability of a defective oil sending unit. Yesterday, I installed a new one and the problem persists, in fact the oil light now stays on without flickering at idle speed. Once I step on the accelerator (higher rpms) the light goes out but comes back on when I go to idle. Tomorrow a friend is going to hook up a pressure gauge and see what that shows. Can anyone give me what the pressure should be at idle and throttle? We are supposed to leave for Montana in less than 3 weeks and the last thing we need to happen is a motor seizing up in the middle of nowhere. If it is a defective oil pump, better to have it fixed now. My engine is a 3.0 V6, 89 Dolphin. Thanks
