  1. I have had two dually flata both times the outside tire. The second time I had to wait for a tire for a week so I also drove it around town. Stay slow like 25 mph It definitely cannot handle the weight and compresses . It is scary but it never popped in a week. Its happened twice so now I feel confident. First it explodes . For a few miles it will be really noisy until the tread gets broken. This is dangerous as steel threads could easily poke the inside tire. Then its not so noisy. The remaining tire looks kinda flat even with 60 psi.
  2. Ive had a new fuel filter sitting in my glove box for a year and a half now and never havent wanted to change it. Im a pretty big guy I dont fit there so well.
  3. My favorite body might actually be the 16 foot sun rader or the mirage. But th e 18 foot ones have more modern mechanicals
  4. The thing about the rear bathroom is that when there were more models available they were rare. Then down the road they were th e majority of what was offered. It is more expensive to have the rear bathroom. As fewer and fewer people bought them in the 90s the ones that were sold were majority the rear bathroom. They werent built to order thats just what the offered. I do not believe there was an rv trend in the 90s to have the back of your rv be a bathroom.
  5. You need an inverter A cheap one will work fine dont need a sine wave
  6. For 185 15 I find that tires are a little more expensive but easier to find. Truck tires that are better than the ones we use.I dont have 15 inch wheels just the 14 inch ones though
  7. My air bags leak so timbrens sound good. Dolphins come with air bags standard. Ive had dolphins with and without and would never go without again on a 21 footer. Just used to hit the back on the road. I think airbags are adaptable to your springs being a bit off and leveling perfectly more.... thats why they are morenpopular.
  8. I think the best year is 85. A lot of must haves improve in 85. First year for efi 22re. For dolphins first year with air bags. First year with trans cooler standard. 85 came with a 5 lug rear end but if it was upgraded that means your rig had a newer rear end than an 86. 86 is a good year too because it has the six lug front end. But a 5 lug front end could be better. Its lighter and the front end doesnt need it. Definitely newer is better. But all toyhomes have low mileage. An 85 on the market seems to have about the same amount of mileage as a 90 but seems to sell for less than half . So while I must admit a 90 is better its not much better. Most of the upgradez happened in 85 and its not twice as good.
  9. Ya all toyhomes have a door on the bathroom you can close when someone is using it. Rear bathroom puts a door in the back. A larger bathroom. With a window Some people liked them. Its possible the majority prefer them but I dont believe that. I believe that by the 90s winnebego and national rv had lots of extra rear bathroom chassis left over to get rid of because no one wanted them. I think it was a more expensive option orignally not popular at all.
  10. Ya this thread has a topic asking for a personal opinion. Make some point have an interesting discussion. If you cant really come up with one its not the right thread to post in for you.... Anyhow 78 could be a good year right? It has lots of different makers of toyhomes. Mostly manuals On the market they are usually cheaper. 20r is reliable. Many of the makes are smaller there is the chinook and various others. 16 foot models are still available. Sunraders and standqrd types. Gas mileage . Could be a good year I can see it. By the time the mid 80s come in theres really only a few makes and makers late 70s early 80s theres more The smaller sizes are a lot smarter as opposed to overloaded.
  11. I looked it up I have a go power 300 modfied sine wave. Claims to be the worlds most efficient They make sine wave inverters too. Made in canada probably overpriced
  12. Can you pick a year? The v6 motorhomes from 89 to 94 has the warrioe becoming the most common The tranny is related what I like about it more is the stalk shifter. In trucks everyone hates the v6 but in motorhomes it might have found its niche because they rarely ever make 150k and the 22res 300k miles dont seem to matter Gas mileage difference seems to shrink to 1 to 2 mpg because of the weight overload. The 22re revs high but its met ita match in a dolphin.... So maybe yourw right. Maybe 93 is the best year. With only 4 makers theres only good obea. Most are rear bathroom. Whether its whata left over or the public wanted bathrooms I dont know I hate those
  13. Well im penciling in putting 2 size 27 under the hood like dolphin did in the early 80s And then eventually two and four golf carts in the back where the converter box is in a dolphin 300. One in the battery compartment 3 in the spot where the box and cord is. This is already vented and sealed from the inside
  14. I hung out at americas tire for another hankook ra08 Thats six now. Just need the spare. I had two on road blowouts. I had four nankang tires and two jupiters all under ten years in fact some under five years all cracked with dry rot. Jupiter tires looked so new they had the rubber hairs on them. Now I just have the spare its a bridgestone 185/r14
  15. The first link is standard mono crystal panels for around a dollar a watt. You can believe that theres plenty of deals like that. Im not up to date on solar panels if anything they seem more expensive now than a year ago when I bought mine
  16. Ok the latter one is 36 small heavy standard heavy solar panels connexted in a nylon sheet. The foldable part makes it heavier and larger than one standard 150 watt panel and harder to point. To the best of my knowledge more expensive too You can find panels for 1 dollar a watt. The unisolar panels I used weigh 1 seventh as much but they are very large and do not fold they roll up
  17. http://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?kw=folding+solar+panel+150+watt&isNewKw=1&pgn=1&epp=24&mfs=SBCLK&acimp=0&itemId=&cnm=&cid=&sqp=folding+solar+panel+150+watt&_trksid=p2053742.m2428.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xfolding+solar+panel+150+watt I found this for 600 this is basically retarded many panels connected that can be folded. Or just buy 15 10 watt panels yourself and store them in a stack.
  18. Can you direct link the folding 150 watt panel? I have the flexible solar panels but they dont fold. A folding one is normally small solid panels
  19. Hid heaxlights save more juice than all marker lights combined. I dont know of any toyhome owner who upgraded them though it is a bit ricer
  20. Different models used different bulbs for the tail lights National rv used very standard rv brand tail brake lights I cant remember the brand but its the main brand. The bulbs are 1151 1157 That brand sells their own led replacements the whole assembly. You can get the bulbs seperately though for cheaper. The marker lights are standard m1 lights the interior is the same as your back up and front tail. Again they sell led versions as a whole assmbly. Ebay has all the bulbs. If it is a turn signal the bulb uses a solenoid to fool the blinker box that wastes juice.
  21. Minimax was made by horizon motorhomes I believe in california. Edit horizon coach arcadia florida
  22. 16 inch wheels you can use tires from the sprinter vans single wheel. One tire is definitely cheaper than two so is one wheel.
  23. Just one thing 15 inch tires are way easier to find. They are everywhere in stck. More expensive but way easier to find Load range d tires in 14 are an order item here in central cali.
  24. I think we can let it rest My best car ever was an infiniti i30 that a tweaker with no insurance totalled. Theres no happy ending and I get reminded of it too much... Years later. Its jarring to have something nice taken it makes you afraid to get something nice again. Im sure its on a short list for psychologists.
  25. In your opinion which is the best year for the toyhome? Why do you think this give some good reasons. There are no right answers. You could say 78 it has a huge variety or 94 because they are all top end. Keep in mind a lot of the makers used trucks one year old. Engine coach whatever makes obe year stand out
