  1. MntnMan Steve Good morn'g, Good to hear that you got this situation taken care of, you've certainly learned a plethora of info. Sometimes it's just as simple as the obvious, One thing about older toy's,,, taken care of and maintained well, it's usually just the simplest of problems, you can over work it some times, I and most have who tinker on these things, now I go to the lesser of the evils, presto ~ 9 of 10 times that's it. again glad to hear your off an running ..............
  2. Chefdav, Hi ! maybe one thing you may have advantage of,? not know'g of the motor sports program in the UK, if you mite know some road racers or oval track, dirt, sprinters, these were the first people to make custom wheels for me when I was do'g i.m.s.a. & road course rac'g. they are specialist in off-sets and back spacing because we run 2 / 3 diff. wheels on the car at the same time. I had them use my center ring (bolt patt ) then make a new wheel for that ring,,,, this could really off-set your price in your favor and maybe give you some new options. you could re-invent the wheel so to speak on your side of the bay...... you'll be the new fad favorite. Just Think'g out loud .................. have a grt. day ...................
  3. Morng Derek, the source for the 15" or 16" wheels in the need'd bolt pattern R @ custom / commercial, the web site that Linda s was nice enough to supply 2 me. yes the wheels R custom, and after speaking to Ray the owner they can B had in many diff. config's. he also can supply an adapter for the older 5-bolt patt. that allows the use of the dually config to B used on the front. this is a very convenient item at least to me and the project I have @ hand. the piks that float around Mtr/Hme web sites that show a 4x4 w/ dually wheels up frt are the pc.s that R avbl thru this cstm / comm web site. these R the adapters that I will run on this xtra cab cnvrsn that is @ hand now. I will only have 2 carry one old 14" spare wheel w/ a 14" / 85 series tire to get home on..... for me very convenient..... Good all ...................
  4. Hello chefdav, and yes I totally agree w/ the single wheel situation, was just a thought, and I truthfully know nothing of what you may have in avblty across the big bay. the entertainment involved in a front tire deflate I am fully aware of, my daily driver is an F-350 S/D, 4x4, Crew/C Dually L/B. at 24 ft. long, and w/ my attached trailer of 40' a frt. tire event can be a serious problem. Derek, thanx 4 the tire spec's. as far as the sunrader 4x4's, they have a quite diff. weight situation, the rear diff assbly be'g of the Toyota H/D series (i.e. 4x4 carrier, axel size, and bearing rate ) makes them some what very strong. I did like mine @ the time for the fact of a very short bob tail. again my tire interest is for a more aggressive patterns in this new adventure. time spent in the TN. hills of winter, and pulling a 1500 lb trailer, I nd just a lill more traction than what they call an all wthr. tire thank you 4 all the info and feed back, as mentioned B-4 I rarely leave things alone when it comes to updating or retro-fit'g from one to another, I dumped the auto tranny, ( the previuos owner was not friendly to it ) I run a 4-spd mnl now, the motor is a cross breed 20 / 22r, with cam and headers, holley down draft E.F.I. building a steady 180 hp. a diesel radiator, elec fans, secondary batt under hood, pre-loaded torsion bars, and Oh so many other goofy updates. : ))) the one thing I have never done is to behind load my rear bumper. any xtra items ride on the front bmpr, this has given me a huge weight dist. advantage. again thanx 2 all ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, have a grt day !
  5. good morn'g kid's ,,,, yes all tires look'd, priced, that bear interest R of course a D - load min . in a side note of shop'g E-bay, there have been some problems w/ recv'g tires that R out of date, nad then the situation of recourse when out on the road and hav'g a problem,,,, happy for those it work'd,, but in my exprnce, I want to see it, touch it, kick it..... paul ..... as of just ystrday, I was priced 15" wheels @ 156.00 ea. so there your concern of all 6, or maybe just 4,i.e. rear only. would be to carry'g A spare -or- 2 ?
  6. Hi Linda,WME,stamar, chefdav, I guess a lot of things on the west side come to big $$$ diff. than here on the east side. yes 15" tires are much easier to find and are less than most 14" w/high load rate,,, 16" R a great option be'g some what close in $$$ range also. THE big issue now is tire size to stay clear of springs, but keep a safe bearing load, this will in tail correct back space & offsets,,,,, chefdav ! you may consider that route of wider single wheels, in a 15 / 16" you can go out to 7 or 8 in width, keep one of your old 14" wheels as your spare..... have not chk'd into the 16 category yet, this may present a clearance problem for some, as to a taller tire may rub on a vertical situation, too short of tire will allow a belly rub on the dual set up my control over spring sag & vertical hiegth tire rub, has been address'd by new spring pads on the axel top, gaining over 2 in right off, Roll control w/ some simple sway bar updates. maybe this will create some more interest here,,,, I ALSO have a qstn. 4 anyone out there, is there a way I may find a florida based toy/mtr-home group,,, could not find anything in navigating this site ..... Thanx to all have a grt day ...............
  7. thanx Linda, speedo is of no concern at this time, will change tranny shaft gear, no biggy... 15" tires are less $$$ than 14" and much easier to find, and i'm searching tires with a more aggressive pattern. I have a real bad habit of not leaving things alone, after 15 + years in a Toyota only salvage yard you get to the point where as it came ! Well, that just don't do it no more....this camper is being retroe'd to a 94' x-tra cab 4x4 frame, I have add'd secondary spring pads to the axel top. I actually just put this unit on the board for sale, w/ 4 wheels ,springs, drv. shaft & sway bar, thank you again for the info and the site,,,, have a grt. aftr/nn Scott
  8. WME, thank you 4 the response, I hope this gets bk to you, the navigation on this forum is ??? Well anyway if I can find them will more than likely stay dual, that being what width I have to work with. but i'm open to anything. thanx again ..........
  9. And yes i'm new here, so if this has been mentioned B-4 my opolog'z, I am looking for any info or supply on 15" six bolt wheels, full float. at this time of reconstruction on this vehicle, if I cant find them at say a reasonable $$$ I my just go after market and sell the factory unit. Thanx for any help or ideas on this situation ............ Scott
  10. Hi Steve, ran across your thread of problems, quit holding the pedal down, a little or a lot,,, opening the valve body butterfly will not accomplish you anything. air begins @ the filter box w/ M.A.S. ,,, is your fuel pump relay work'g,? the correction you made on the charcoal canister will aid in the tank return line pressure, but not so much to start it. Have you had any luck w/ it starting yet ?
