  1. I have a 150 pound torque wrench. If I torque it to 150 then I can use the breaker bar to turn it just about a quarter of inch then I should be at 170 pound per foot torque.
  2. Hi Linda, I weigh 190 pounds.I should stand about 10.7 inches away according to my math.I should never spray oil on them again.
  3. So I should torque them to 150 with my torque wrench and then add a little with my breaker bar. I almost had my tires loose when they torque it to 150 and spraid oil on it for easy removal in the tire center. Some of my nuts had only 20 pounds on them after 300 miles of travel. I was lucky to notice them. Thank goodness.
  4. Yes Greg, I will put it as close to the edge as possible. I just want to use it for climbing. Thanks.
  5. Great, it is good to be able to talk about your problems with a few experts.:-)
  6. I don't get what distance to measure Linda. Do you think that 8 inches to the ground is okay. It seems that the exhaust system is lower than 8 inches to the ground on the other side so I should be okay.
  7. Thanks Linda, I am thinking to slice the carpet on each side about six inches and put a rectangular metal sheet so that eventually there is going to be two metal and a plywood in between. I hope that I won't have issue with how low it is going to be to the ground. It measures 8 inches. Thanks again.
  8. Hi I am trying to add this steps to the RV. I have to drill four holes to mount the steps. Has any one have done that and what should I watch out for? Thank you very much. Mason.
  9. Hi Derek I am trying to post a new topic in the forum but I don't see that option any more. Is there any reason that I don't have that option any more? Thanks .
  10. Age is just a number. People get old mentally. Some people are already old at their youth.
  11. We can discuss the planet but the fact is that we have not met an original owner yet and I have a feeling that we won't get to meet one.:-)
  12. 1986 economy was different than today they didn't loan money so easily to people to buy RVs or houses. Plus when I was thirty I couldn't buy a brand new car.
  13. Good question. Most original owners must have retired from traveling by now.
  14. Yes that is a bad axle. I saw one that snapped. The guy said that he was going in the free way with his daughter in the back that all of the sudden the rear wheel came out. He had no break for one mile. The rear of the rv was burnt on fire because of the drag. I wouldn't believe it until I saw it with my eyes.
  15. Thanks for the early warning. It can get hot very quickly in the coach. You have to have a thermometer inside the coach or the van.
  16. I ended up ordering a full kit from air litter 5000. the package weighs about 37 pound . Sounds heavy to me. It has been a week since I ordered. we will see.
  17. Once you look at them they are very simple. Tomorrow I plan on taking it out and put some green slime in it and move it around so it gets to every where then put it back and see if it makes any difference.the rubber looks to be in a good shape.
  18. Hi totem. Can you tell me how you added the green slime. Did you take the bag out?How much of that stuff did you put in. I met a guy today he said that they added fix a flat to the semi truck air bags and they worked good. My leak is very small so I thought I might as well try that.
  19. Great, I will call them when I get a cell phone(in couple of weeks).Cell phone companies are tricky these days.I was going to get a cell phone with unlimited web from Walmart.but I can't get them until I am ready to move out of here so I can test them. They have only two weeks return policy.
  20. Hi, Today i took the tires out and yes there is an orange logo that shows in the photo. There is a number in white under the logo which is not very easy to read. The width is about three inches and the height is about seven inches. Derek what is the height of that one that you posted? It says 13.6 but it surely don't look like that in the drawing. It looks about 7 proportional to the width. Thanks Waiter for the how to. I think the bag leaks around the colour where the clamp is, very slowly all around. The next question that comes in my mind is what is my best option Get a replacement(if i can find one) or get the whole new kit. If the one that Derek posted is the right one then i save a bundle but it may be difficult to get that top bolt off as Mr Waiter pointed out. I just wait till i get more feed back from you ladies and gentlemen and then decide. thanks a lot for your time and effort. mason
  21. Hi Linda. Tomorrow i will jack it up correctly and take the tires out and take a look . It is amazing to have all you guys available for such valuable advise. Best regards. mason
