  1. I just got replacing my clearance lights with some LED ones. I think it came out pretty good. I went with some 2 wire from Superbright LED. I did have to make some bases for the lights to mount on and give me room for the wiring connections. I made the bases out of some Starboard that I had left from a project I did on my boat.
  2. Homer, Thanks! That is the kind I was thinking of using, glad to hear it works well. My stuff has yellowed also, and I needs to be freshened up.
  3. Has anyone used plastic paint with success? I want to paint vent trim, and maybe my A/C if it works good.
  4. Those do look real nice, and very easy to install. Got those on my list now!!
  5. Energy Suspension Urathane, or what ever they are made of. Derek, I could try that....do you want to be the camera man? LOL
  6. Test run complete.....Nothing fell off LOL!!! I can really tell a difference in how it rides. The back feels a lot more solid that it did without the swaybar. I can also tell I need to hurry up and order new bushings for the front swaybar. I can tell this because I can now feel extra movement in the front that I didn't experience when there was no swaybar in the back. Definitely a fun project!!!! Now on to getting the bath remodeled, and my SeeLevel II tank reading system installed!
  7. I just realized that I had not tightened the D-bushing nuts when I took the pic, that was one of the last steps I did LOL. The bolts have a good 1/2" past the end of the nut, and I used the locking type with the plastic in the nut threads. I also used the longest bolts I could use at the point where I mounted the plate to the axle, lock washers and washers also, there is not a lot of space on the axle bracket it'self..
  8. Finally got around to installing my Addco 382 Swaybar. I had read that this bar would work, so I bought one. I had to wait almost 2 weeks before it got to my door, so I think Addco had to make one or something. Well after it finally stopped raining here I read through the instructions again and got ready to install it. I went out with the bar, with the D bushings in their place. I put the bar up and low and behold the brackets on the 1 ton axle are not even close to lining up, and the U-bolts were to small for the axle!!! If I had not already waited an eternity to get the bar, I probably would have retured it, but not one to shy away from a challenge I came up with a plan. I decided that I would fab up some plates and move the D-bushing location so I could proceed with the install. The holes for the mount on the drivers side are pretty close to the ones on the axle, but the passenger side is not. Here are the plates mounted. Here are the End Links installed. Once I had figured out how to make the right modifications, the rest of the install went just fine. I have yet to take a test ride, but plan on doing that today. Things are pretty much complete for the rear end on my Sunrader. I even came up with a plan to install my spare tire under the coach, and got that done yesterday as well. I hope I am not boring anyone with this, but I figure it may be a good reference for someone else who may be thinking of doing this to their Toy.
  9. My system came in today!! It will be awhile before I get to put it in, but at least I have it. SeeLevel is an awesome company to work with! I got the good deal the Maineah got, and they replaced the whole system out for me to one that will work with my 5" tanks. No charge, no goofing around, just made the switch. If you are thinking of a system, I would look no where else but to SeeLevel!!!
  10. Linda S, Mine looks a lot like the Baltimore Oak. It has the knots in it I am pretty sure. I am off work tomorrow, so i will go out and take a good look at it. I just wonder how much shipping on something like that would be to Louisiana. I am also going to visit a bigger RV Sales place one of these days and see if they can get anything like that. Thanks for the link!!
  11. bullmoose, I would love to give you a solid answer but there are just to many factors involved. I got lucky on the price I paid for mine. There could be deals like that in your area as well, then again maybe not. Some folks on this site have paid upwards of $5000.00 for their Mid 80s Toy home. I am sure if you look around you can find one anywhere between the price of mine, and theirs. Remember it is only worth what you are willing to pay for it, how much work is involved and what you are willing to do. So far I have an additional $750.00 in mine already, and it is a long ways from being done to my standards.
  12. I recently removed my BWT for another project. My Toilet flange was glued to the big pipe going to the BWT, and that pipe was glued to the BWT. The only way I got it removed was by cutting the flange off.
  13. Yes, I have been thinking about that as well. If I did go that route, I would remove the wall by the Dinette also, that way the wood look that is left would be more of an accent than the major. I do need to re-seal the windows, so when I have those out, is when I planned on doing the rest of the interior work.
  14. Greg, good idea. I am really going to look at the possibilities I have for the plumbing for the shower. I am not sure how much the shower will actually get used, but if there is a better way of taking care of the water, I am all for it!!
  15. Yes, that is Exactly what I am looking for. I need 2 sheets to do the projects that I have lined up. I am sure it is available somewhere, just finding out where is the issue.
  16. Well, I can mark the bushing and shock job as complete!!! Quite a job to do, but it needed it badly. The front shocks had nothing left in them, and the rear ones were not much better. The bushing were totally wore out...take a look. I did have to remove my BWT which was already mentioned, and I did run into a bit of a problem with a wood box that is part of the entry step. So I removed some of the wood to make way for the Shackle Bushing bolt. I took it for a short run, and hit a few bumps that I knew would have some effect. It no longer sounds like 2 huge bricks slapping together when I hit a bump in the road now. I also bought a Sway Bar, not sure if I need it, but everything that I have read here and elsewhere tells me it can't hurt. I think, and I am hoping I have metal in the right spot on the frame for the connecting rods, or what ever else they are called...LOL. I should have the Sway Bar this coming up week, so it will be a good job for next weekend. I also have a couple of Bushing on the front ebd that need replaced, so I might as well just go ahead and get them.
  17. Well I got 1/4 of the way done with the Leaf Spring Bushing/Shock job. The bushing kit I bought only had 8 of the size I need. I had to run around town today and find 4 more so I can finish the job tomorrow. I have the front Shocks, and the Drivers rear Leaf Spring Bushings and Shock to do tomorrow. I learned a few tricks at getting the Leaf Spring and the Axle lined back up, so hopefully the job tomorrow will go easier.
  18. Not the paneling with the wall paper, the wood looking paneling is what I am refering to. I may have a lead from my Carpenter friend, but he is not sure if they have what I need. I will have to wait until Monday to call and ask them.
  19. Hi All, As most of you know I am working on my 1985 Sunrader. I am having a Great time working on things as I go along. When I work on projects I try to stay a couple of steps ahead so I have what I need, when I need it. My question is, does anyone know of a source for the paneling that was used in our Toys? It may sound funny, but I really like the paneling look in mine. It has a nice cozy effect, so I want to replace what has been damaged by a leak at a side window, and also remove and replace the panel job the PO had done in the kitchen area. I have looked at the painting jobs that people here have done, some really nice work for sure. I also have painters in the family, so doing that is not the issue, it is getting the look I want. I have also searched this forum, others, and the net and I am not finding anything on where to get that type of paneling. I Do Not Want paneling with the lines in it. I can get that at a box store. Thanks in advance!!!
  20. I went ahead and ordered the System. I do hae wiring going to the tanks, but I will need to evaluate how good it still is. The price on that unit is really good. The company said when I get the System to give them a call, and they will give me a RMA for my sensors and send me the short ones that will work on my tanks. I have a few more things to do before the System will go in, but the price was good enough for me to move on it now. Thanks again!
  21. Derek, If you do decide to download it, you may not be able to see posts or answer them on here for 3 days!!!! LOL
  22. Derek, Yes an Awesome resource on the book. Thanks for putting it up. I read a few things in it, and have already detremined it is vastly more detailed than the FSM. Thanks again!!
  23. More questions; Did you have to cut the sensors? My BWT, and GWT are only 5" at the longest point. I did speak with the company and they said they will do a swap to the sensors made for 6" and below tanks, so that may work out. I plan on using new wiring, the stuff in my Sunrader is hosed. Does the kit come with new wire as well? Thanks a bunch, the price on this unit is way cool! I do not need the water heater switch yet, but do need the water pump one, so that is a big plus.
