  1. Anyone have a source for replacement side mirrors that would look appropriate to an '80 Toyhome? The metal back on mine was rusted through (and painted over very neatly by a previous owner), so a good windstorm here busted it right off the bolt. My poor sideview mirror is dangling off the bracket now, ducktaped up as best I can. Toyhomes seem to be pretty rare here in rural western Louisiana where I'm doing research, so I've had no luck finding a donor vehicle at junk yards. Thanks for any help! Becca
  2. Sorry, I'm not sure if it was a Ford, Toyota, or something else part. I wish I had written down the part # before I threw out the packaging. 40/25 is about what it has been here in western Louisiana. Brrr!
  3. I don't know about the cause, and this might be obvious advice, but my toyhome hates the cold and insists on having its accelerator pumped a couple times before turning the key--then it will start with one or two cranks. Unless it's REALLY cold.
  4. Thanks, everyone. I was able to get a new gas cap by taking in the measurement by caliper. The first parts store couldn't help with just a measurement (or maybe just didn't want to take the time), but the second one found one that worked perfectly. I bought two! Craige, I am going to try to make a strap like that. I'll post the tank installation manual when I get home in a few months--living in my toyhome now doing anthropological research in the SE. (Thought it would be warmer!) Becca
  5. I recently bought a Huntsman Micro Mini motorhome based off the '79 Toyota pickup chassis. Its docs included an installation guide for a non-Toyota fuel tank (for a '74-'76 Ford). The tank may have been installed by Huntsman or may have been aftermarket. I don't know, and neither does the immediately previous owner (I think I'm the fifth owner.) The fuel cap was a little loose, and it fell off shortly after the vehicle came home with me. I don't know if the part the cap fits into is the original Toyota or the Ford or something else. Now I'm kicking myself for not replacing it while I had the old cap with me. Does anyone know what measurements I should take with me to the parts store to replace it? I'm not comfortable actually taking the motorhome to the parts store near me to try to fit it (still getting used to parking the sucker). Thanks for any help! I've been lurking and am inspired by the care many of you put into fixing up your toyhomes and hope to have projects of my own to share soon. Becca
