  1. At least the English and Belgians aren't as easily confused by the dog/person thing. Like I said, it only seems to be GSD owners that need clarity in their lives.
  2. Yes, GSD owners seem to be the only ones who feel the need to remind themselves that they own a dog and not a cat. Curious.
  3. Hopefully some future owner won't assume it's strong enough to tow a 3500lb trailer.
  4. I've no doubt that the hitch is Class III, as long as you're confident that whatever you've bolted it to is also Class III.
  5. Not sure about the NEK, but formaldehyde (PFA) appears to have been banned in the US in 1982, Canada in 1992. But just like the Olympics, there will always be 'dopers'. http://www.intentionallydomestic.com/friday-food-fight-is-there-formaldehyde-in-maple-syrup/ http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/sticky-fingers-beating-the-bush-in-search-of-maple-syrup-cheats/article17261481/ Perhaps in the 70s, just as it is now, it's just closer and more convenient to get to Quebec from the NEK than just about anywhere else in the World.

  7. Rather that re-reinventing the wheel, I suggest you install some 185R14 tires (either LR 'C' or 'D') on either your refurbished Ford rims (since you've already got them) or standard Toyota pickup rims.
  8. I don't seem to get any results from the Search function, so I can't find the thread you might be referring to. However, I doubt very much I'd have written that the codes were "easy to find". If anything, I'd have written that virtually nobody refers to them. All the online Toyota Dealer websites I've visited ask for a VIN.
  9. Or this:- https://www.bridgestonetyres.com.au/bridgestone-r623
  10. Yes, but I found the tyre 1st (if you're willing to travel)! https://www.tyresales.com.au/buy/tyre/bridgestone/duravis_r623/185-0r14/122935?q=4
  11. New Bridgestone tires? I thought they stopped making a 185R14 LR D tire years ago?

  13. I believe it's doable with just the passenger seat removed.
  14. I don't KNOW if a 1985 motorhome uses the same as that truck. The VIN I posted above was for a 1-Ton SRW pickup, not a motorhome. '3W' is great. Even greater if it was incorporated in the VIN or somewhere else that Joe Public could easily find and know when buying parts.
  15. So the mystery continues. But since that's a 1985 VIN, it's obviously not a V6.
  16. I don't know if the 1-Ton SRW would be a source for heavier duty parts. I've never seen details comparing it to the 1/2-Ton or 1-Ton DRW. If anyone anted to research it further, I saved the VIN for a 1-Ton SRW that was on EBay a few years back. (JT4RN55E4F0117843) I think Linda looked up a few parts in the past, but I don't recall which ones. Yes, JD, I realize that the 'X-Ton' designation isn't technically 'correct' but I think we all pretty much understand what we're referring to. Something like 'Air Bags' vs. 'Air Springs'.
  17. But is the '1985 HD cab & chassis with single rear wheels' the same as the '1-Ton (SRW)' and would that use the same as a 'regular' 1985 1/2-Ton?
  18. I've no idea if any parts would be anywhere near interchangeable, but the Astro van was offered with 5-lugs and later 6-lugs. EDIT:- Of course, the Astro and S-10 have different 5-lug BCDs. That would be too convenient!
  19. I'm in the 'thrifty' camp. I don't argue that 'Red' (maybe) is better. I'd just like to read what Toyota has to say about it (though probably biassed) WRT our engines. I'd also like to read their comments on compatibility. I see no clear warnings on their container labels. "If flushing is needed:" [Now there's a brilliant idea to boost sales. Flush using $80/gallon coolant and not water (distilled or not)] "For vehicles filled with Super Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant at the plant, it is highly recommended that Super Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant be used for maintenance." So they can't even bring themselves to 'highly recommend' it for ours that weren't factory filled with it.
