DEREK and i both have small cheap portable generators myn will fit in the outside storege. at 1200 watts 850 running watts cant run ac but run small microwave and charge rv battery. myn is a cheap 2 cycle unit . a nice honda 2000 watts about 1000 dollors. i paid 140 dollors for mine. run some outside lights too . in the back woods. never use ac in the mountains in wa state. what you need depends on what you want too do.

THE DOLPHIN I bought in november had a bbq tank i removed it and am using a recertified 1973 HORZONTAL tank picked up for free and in beutiful condition at the county haserdaous dissposal site. Pay the gas outfit 5 dollors too check it out good for 5 years. I DO KNOW THAT SOME OF THE OLDER LARGE MOTER HOMES USED TWO UPRIGHT FIVE GALLON TANKS. Our local rv shops want 200 dollors for a new 20 pound Horzontal tank.

DONT KNOW about the other brands but the book from National RV says no towing at all with THE DOLPHIN OR THE SEABREEZE 1987.

THERE are lock companyes that will come and unlock a auto for a fee they often have all kind of tools can unlock anything made sometimes your auto insurence covers it could be 100 dollors plus not current on pricing . but they are usaly very good . use only licened and bonded companys. TOYOTA BEEFED up a lot I can openany 1977 78 in three minitis with bailing wire under the outside handle come under button up lift handel open door. i have locked myself out too many too count. I carried bailing wire hid under rear bumper on my 78 pickup and 78 minimax moterhome.

on my 88 4wd pu i took a long skinne screw driver and triped the relese it poped off and i removed the clustre be VERY carfull of the printed curcit boards very thin . Ihad too replace the dash lights all burned out. TOO reassamble i just stuck back on. pict looks very sim. SOME OF THEM YOU PRI UP A TAB TOO RELECE THEM.

I realy enjoyed the national rv arkive site but it was hit by bad boys also. the SEABREEZE on there looked a little more deluxe then the DOLPHIN.

are the cab windows all the way up if down a tad take wire thru door window pull keys out of switch out over window i have done this. i dont no if you can slim jim one of those but tri too hook the pull up lock button linkeg and try too pull up the button. there is a way too open the 1977 1978 with bailing wire 2 minites for me. lock myself out many times.

at 62000 the one on my wagen was cracked. would not mind seeing a picture of the one you remove. maybe it is the replacement one.toyota sold back in the day. all of the first ones cracked.

not at all that is a nice header Toyota offered a redesined all cast iron manifold that did not crack . but if a header will work why not. for the new to the discution we are talking 1978 20r.Maneah You are corr ect the rear half of carb heat box was all they had for a exst gasket. i once had a mufler come a part inside ALL THE BAFFLES blew back aginst the outlet closing it of and back pressuring the eng. that was on my 884wd xtra cab. Ihad too replace the Ma nifold on my 1977 20 R powered CORONA STATION WAGEN . Because it was cracked. IALSO installed the after market felpro brand ext Gasket set it helps a lot CHECK with Toyota i do not know if they if they still havethem IF YOU FIND AN UN CRACKED MANIFOLD IN A JUNK YARD CHANCES ARE IT IS THE REDSINED ONE AS VIRTULY ALL OF THE ORGANAL ONES CRACKED> long cracks right on the out side in the middle. THE 20R was used in the CELICA ,CORONA, AND the TRUCKS> ALL SAME

i use 3 m yellow super wether strip glue too glue on a new sheet of plastic and they do need to be there also keep water off door panels and seal out drafts

Those old 20rs org did not have an ext manifold gasket set on the head between the manifold and the head the felpro after market ext gasket set will help org all they had was the carb heat box rear half between the head and manifold. if ypu mean the long pipe bolts on the manofold where i live i took that off made covers for the holes. a pluged catlitc convertor or evena bad muffler can back pressure the eng. the org manofold was also subject too horzontal cracking they m ade a re engered manifold bought one about 1985 back then 150 doolors. it look some different. i have had 3 20rs. even the22r or re are hard on the pipe doenuts put 2 sets on my 88 4wd. bit the last has been ok. a hole in the manofold can be dangerous carbon monoxide agin

SOORY to scare you that wsa abou t 36 years ago. Suburban is a brand Are there any rv repair shops around your area they most often sell this stuff if you talked too them about the old one . talk too them about a estamet for a new one Propane is good if we take care you are smart enough too already realized there was somthing wrong. get a new furnace installed i never leave my oven lit when not in use or at night and the oven also is designed too not leak gas when not lit . never had any smell of gas in it. did you look up some of them on company websits THAT person was more than 70 and not as alert as mabe he should of been

they still make the Suburban and theHydro Flame Direct discharge no ducts several sizes Are there no rv shops in your area. you can Go look up these companys on the Internet they show diff models look on your old one make brand and shouldbe a plate shouwing BTU output. my 1978 is a direct discharge they are auto light now. myn is very small mounted in the bottom of the closet . but they are around 5 or 6 hundred but what is the price of being alive. had a frend years ago his brother had truck camper .They figer the oven leak gas got out of bed light the oven Blue Upthe camper all windowa out Burned so bad he Lived for Three weeks and died.

my 1978 minimax has 94000 org miles. i had a 4 lugToyota Corona station wagen 20r 3 kids loaded hard ran it hard i replaced the rear berings three times in 15 years and 240,ooo miles.

I have a 5 lug 1978 minimax for sale in wa sh state it was given to us by my friend. HE never know about the axle problm and nether did i until i stumbled on this site. it has no water heater no grey tank only stove small small frig. we only went short 50 to 80 miles local no trouble but you just never know. careful how we loaded it if you dont have much money know that one too. i had too retire because the shop closed up after 28 years i got some money and just bought a 1987 Dolphin full 6 lug front and rear. but i never felt Good driving the 5 lug i may junk out it i dont want it on my Conchence the danger. the little Chinock i think are ok. it is on the sale site but that price is not firm at all other half idie . Lean can be bad spring . bad wood look under it broke springs etc etc.

SOMETIMES you can you can use the orginal tracks they just bolt on the bottom of the seats those early ones can be taken off the tracks and switched right to left . i had a 1978 Pickup the right seat was like new. driver seat not quit as good. took them off the tracks and switched right too left what a differance . but in the truck wife did not ride much any way . those early seats are in deed Primitive no tilt or anything.

REMBER mold like that in buildings is a very serous health hazerd. And bad 5 lug axles can also shorten your life .too bad mold city should donate its axle to the Beuty Queen and make one good one and the rest of the moldy one go too the big resting place.

Avery likly possabllty is that the wind shild is leaking down under the dash. check under the dash. also the cowul vents in front of the wind shield have drains in the fire wall dont rember if you acess those from the end plates on the firewall under the hood wiper link doors but they can plug maybe someone knows more call .

too light the pilot you should have aSaft ey button y ou hold in while lighting the pilot until the pilot stays lit when not lit no gas should come out at all saftey design.
