  1. This monitor panel quit working last summer, after I put in the new porch light. My house battery was fine, in the spring. I was flushing out the plumbing, when I got it home. All with the battery power, alone. Afterwards I plugged in to make sure it was charged up. Thanx.
  2. I do have a monitor, next to the coach door. Right inside from the new porch light, that I had just installed. I had blown a fuse and replaced it, but the monitor panel ceased working, except for water pump switch. Bummer! I wonder what happened, or if the monitor panel has its own fuse? Oh, well. Maybe take it apart and check it out. Thanx for the help, guys. Tudy
  3. Amazing information! I think that it may be the vacuum breaker that is leaking. I plan to take the sink apart to find out. If all else fails.... Rescue Tape will save the day. You guys are the best! Thanx! Tudy
  4. Yup. Ya sure get reminded of stuff, that needed attention, last year. I have checked over everything and I'm doing ok, but..... The shower fitting, that attaches to the bathroom sink, leaks a lot, when I turn the faucet diverter for the shower. I see a hose colored, plastic sleeve covering a squarish fitting (outlet for faucet shower water?) and hose end. I don't want to try to take it apart or tightening it and end up breaking something. We're boondocking this weekend and need the shower. A leaky one is better than none. Any ideas? Thanx a lot! Tudy 84 Dolphin
  5. I just got my Toy home back from the farm. It was inside and hooked up to a battery tender. Do I need to charge up my house battery or was that being tended in line? I have the stock charging system, and I don't want to overcharge my new house battery. Going camping this weekend, with my 4 1/2 yr old grandson. He's really pumped about it and Gramma is, too. Thanx!
  6. I'm from the Midwest and those days are gone. Used to be, but, as far as I know, doesn't exist anymore. Unless, maybe in Ozark boonies or something. People might believe in buying domestic, but don't push their beliefs on others. Too many people buying imports and foreign models being built in the US, to get away with that, any more. 7. Maybe a Sporty. There are lighter bikes. My GS500F weighs only 400#. My V1300T weighs 700#. Big difference.I believe that you can get light weight mc trailers as well. Tudy
  8. Hi and welcome! I have a 2 inch receiver hitch on my 86 Dolphin. I have a bike rack, with an adapter, that fits 2 inch or 1 1/4 inch receivers. Works with my Subaru or my Toyhome. Been taking my bikes camping ever since. Tudy & "Cricket"
  9. Looks like its, already, been remodeled once. New range, fridge and flooring. Should be interesting to see what it looks like when you're done with it. Have fun making it your own. Tudy & "Cricket"
  10. I'd say wait a bit longer. My freezer cools first, then refrigerator. Give it some more time. When I go camping, I put in a couple ice packs, to get it cooled down fast. Also, try to have everything, that you put in, cold or frozen. Otherwise, it takes a while to cool down.
  11. I use my oven in my Toyhome. If its a little chilly in the morning, I bake muffins. My son catches trout and we broil em in the oven. Yummy!
  12. Welcome! My Dolphin looks similar to your Toyhome. Mine had cheap wheel covers on, when I bought it. I got rid of those and repainted the wheels like yours. 4 yrs later, she still looks great! I need to redo the 80s interior, this yr. Enjoy your Toy! Tudy & "Cricket"
  13. I'll be checking into getting one of these for my 84 Dolphin. Thanks for the info.
  14. Welcome to the group, Vanessa. I learned a lot just reading books, my own and the libraries. I was fortunate, that my 84 Dolphin had all the manuals for everything. I even replaced a fuel hose, when it started leaking. Easy fix. Have fun getting aquainted with your rig. You'll love it! Tudy (MN Swede) Cricket (84 Dolphin 4 spd)
  15. So Dennis... Is Wisconsin a go, for the Midwest Toyota Rally? Sounds awesome to me!
  16. Nice interior in that Dolphin, with under 50k miles! Hard to find them any more.
  17. I, too, removed my non-working rooftop ac, from my 84 Dolphin. I put in a regular roof vent, years ago, and have been a happy camper, since. No need for ac and now my rig's lighter and more aerodynamic. More headroom, too. What's not to like?
  18. Removal of Air Maxx vent covers and the rooftop ac would improve aerodynamics. Also, a good coat of wax.
  19. Don't know if you have a rooftop ac or not. Mine wasn't working, so I removed it. I put in a vent in its place and no regrets. Guess it depends on if you can live without it. You'd lose a bunch of weight and have less wind resistance.
  20. These motorhomes, on a full size van platform, don't have any headroom in the bunk. Claustrophobic, if you ask me.You can see that in the vid. My neighbor had one. Otherwise looks good. Probably bad mpgs for size, though. I have a 84 Dolphin with 22r 4 spd stick. Love it. Easy to learn to shift. Tudy & "Cricket"
  21. #2 question: There must be a water pump switch in the coach. Mine is in the monitor, on the galley cupboard. Fill fresh water tank and turn it on. Plug in the coach first, because it sounds like you may not have coach battery. Do the lights work? The waste tanks have drains with covers beneath the coach. They have slides that pull out to open drains. Mine are on drivers side in back. Hope this helps.
  22. So the Ugly Duckling will turn out to be a Beautiful Swan? Now the real fun begins. Congratulations!
  23. I installed a new Dometic. It's not as persnickity as my old one. My driveway has a lot of slant. With the Dometic, it works fine, unless it is obviously off level. I won't push my luck, though. Running off level can ruin a fridge. New ones are way too spendy. :-/
  24. My driveway is slanted, as well. I can back up on planks, to make the fridge level, or put gel ice packs in fridge, then put chilled food in, as usual. The ice packs keep the fridge cool, until you can start it up. I, usually, pick up hard to keep frozen things, like ice cream, on my way out. Always works well for me.
  25. My Dolphin has the original two surface mount speakers, on the underside of the wall cabinets. One on each side. They sound great and have adjustable volume.
