  1. I own a 22r 4 spd and it hasn't let me down yet. I do use Seafoam to keep the carb happy. Good stuff!
  2. I get along with my hot water heater just fine. I light it and leave it on pilot. It takes a few hrs to heat up, but we don't need it right away anyhow. Just on pilot, it supplies me with all the hot water, that we need. Try it once. I got that good tip from someone here. One of many, I know. Have a good time in your Toyhouse.
  3. Mine has 22r with 4spd. Cab air, but no air bags. Monitor panel. My axel was recalled and has 6 lug, now. Nothing fancy. It needs reapholstering of 2 capt chairs and sofa. They are still awful brown/tan herculan material. Right now, I just have nice throws over them. Put in a new Dometic fridge, so we can enjoy ice cream on the road.
  4. Oh, yeah! I love my tinted, bubble front bunk window, too. No leaks anywhere on this Toyhouse. Tudy & "Cricket" in Minnesota
  5. My 84 Dolphin 300 looks about the same as your 80, just on the newer Toyota truck model. I really like having the entrance door to kitchen and bath in the back, with living & sleeping space further forward. While at family camp, we can seat 7 people around our dining table to eat or play cards. And that's not even counting the little ones sitting up in the bunk. On a rainy day, that's quite a blessing, indeed!
  6. I have a 12v coffee maker. Like a Mr.Coffee but 12v. I thought that it would be nice to make my cup-o-joe, whilst driving down the road. I used it on long car roadtrips. It burns out fuses, as was mentioned. I still have it, but use my little Coleman burner to boil water now. Quicker & easier. Yeah.... Why would you want one in a motorhome? You've got your kitchen right there. :/ Tudy in MN
  7. OK. I read the 84 Dolphin manual, more thoroughly, and it does say "The monitor panel has a 15 amp fuse located behind the panel". I looked behind the monitor panel and the wires from the circuit board go directly into a space under the wall cupboard. Seems likely that the 15 amp fuse is blown, but where is it?? Please help me.... Tudy
  8. Thanx for the pics. Your Toyhome looks very nice & bright. I think that eliminating the roof AC really helped open up the interior in mine. Another skylight/vent, along with lighter, brighter colors, made all the difference. Tudy 84 Dolphin 300
  9. Sunraders just don't have the headroom, standing up or in the bunk. Maybe its just me. Thanx, but I'll keep my (inferior?) Dolphin.
  10. Only trouble is, the snakes don't work winters, in Minnesota.
  11. I removed my AC and put in a vent. I may put in a fan tastic vent, sometime. Otherwise, I'd say, go with the AC, that doesn't go on the roof, if possible. There are a lot more options, now, that weren't available, when our Toyhomes were built. Tudy in Minnesota
  12. Tack sa mycket, you guys! I really appreciate the knowledge of these systems. I really do love my Toyhome! So does my 4 yr old grandson, Oz. I found out that he was born to be a camper. His first time, without his parents and he wasn't homesick at all. We had a great time. Even cooked in one of those cast iron dutch ovens, in the wood coals. Awesome!
  13. I use Mom's old drip-a-lator. Makes the best coffee and all you need is boiled water. Easy as pie! Tudy from MN
  14. Must have just been some bad gas. I filled up, somewhere else, before my camping trip and she started out kinda balky, but smoothed out, as we headed out. It's the only thing, that I can figure.... Runs like a champ, now!
  15. Hey, don't give up on me, though. I can follow directions, if you let me know what to check. I can do it. I'm a wee bit mechanicaly inclined. I replaced a fuel line for the carb, after I bought it. Should I try carb cleaner or setting idle screw? Where ever that is.... Thanx, you guys!
  16. I, normally, do put Seafoam into the tank before storage. It runs fine down the highway, just shakes spits n sputters, while idling. Do these have a double barrel carb? Looks like it. One barrel butterfly was open 1/4 inch and the other was open full. I'm no mechanic, as you can see. I don't know what to look for. Sorry....
  17. When I picked up my 22r 4spd from 6 months of storage, it ran like a champ. No problems. Took it home. It sat for 3 weeks max. Got it started ok, but after the first 30 seconds or so of idling, it wants to die. Black smoke from the tailpipe. Spits n sputters... I have to give it some gas. Seems to be ok going down the road. Just the idle. I'm going camping next week, with my 4 yr old grandson, so I kinda hope that I can find a solution to this problem. Thanx for your help. Tudy in MN
  18. And I'm sitting in my toyhome in Minnesota, dressed in layers, tryin to stay warm. Ha ha!
  19. My 84 has the house battery under the hood, on the driver's side. I thought that they all were that way. :/
  20. I have used a queen sized Travasak for years, on my loft. Works like sleeping bag but with removable sheets. The outside has a warm side & cool side. Flip it over for a change of weather. Love it and it looks real nice zipped up. My Toy loft mattress was never slept on before, so it was in great shape. Very firm. I am by myself, so lotza room. Tudy
  21. Just a hint. If you don't use a lot of hot water, just leave the hw heater on pilot. I did this and the pilot keeps the water hot enough for washing dishes, ect. You'd be surprised how hot the pilot flame keeps it. Try it. Tudy & 84 Dolphin "Cricket"
  22. I have been blessed! I found a pair of cloth seats from a 95 SR5. In great shape and in tan to match my truck's cab interior. I'm taking them out first thing in the morning at my local salvage yard. I'm paying $50 for the pair. Hmm... We could be going on longer trips, now. I also got new plush carpeting and sheet flooring for my Toy. So excited to get her all spruced up for the summer. Oh Yeah! I want to thank you all for all the good advice on this site. I couldn't have done so much, without your help.
  23. One of the first things that I did for my Dolphin was remove the huge A/C unit off of the roof. I dropped in another roof vent, instead. Don't miss the A/C at all and have a brighter kitchen now.
