  1. WME Thanks. Now I have to find a truck to work on.Most of them are under tarps for the winter.Steve
  2. Monty. Where and how did you splice your frame. I would like to build a Tonke style camper just to see if I can do it. I would want to add 2/3ft on the frame. possible? Drive shaft problems? Steve
  3. The 93 Seabreeze gang tried in Seattle again yesterday and were flagged right away. They were five ads from the top and stopped already. I would guess C.L. has them in their sights. Steve.
  4. I saw them 2hrs ago and now the"re gone. Story is on the web. Three cheers for the Toyota family.Steve
  5. Greg He is working the scam on Craigs List in Seattle. Three ads almost in a row.I"ve seen them before but never that many at one time. He must be getting desparate now more people are on to him/them. I am going to get ahold of C.L. and see if they can stop this. Steve.
  6. XTRMEMTNMN Glad I could help out. Came across it as I was looking up something else. Enjoy Steve
  7. BAJADULCE. Glad you liked the Tonke site. I"m a monkey with a paint brush but what fun it is. A friend of mine who has a refinishing shop just had a kid from England come in looking for a job. The first thing he told Rick was that he had gone to school for 4 years to learn the trade. Rick told him he learned to refinish because he didn"t go to school. His dad had the company before Rick and told him if he didn"t go to school, he could darn well go to work. I learned the same way in some very European shops here in Canada. I guess even a blind monkey lands on a banana once in a while. I found these web sites wandering around. R.V. supplies-parts ect. Hope they help someone. www.themetalcompany.com - www.myRVspace.com The last one maybe all lower case letters but this is what the logo had. Get something to eat and drink before you sit down. There is a lot to see Steve
  8. XTRMEMTNMN If your your door is metal try this web site. It"s loaded with suppliers. They may have fiberglass also. www.themetalcompany.com or www.myRVspace.com They custom make doors I think. Hope it helps. Steve
  9. Anyone seen this web page. Being a wood worker it struck a spot close to home. May not work on a short bed but that maybe could be worked around.' I would do the chrome black powder coat. www.tonkecampers.nl ~enjoy. Steve.
  10. Bajadulce. You are right. He is young and the the fish should know the terror of a good fisherman/woman with a 4x4. Really every thing I gained in life that was worth anything had a certain amount of pain tied to it. Just forgot due to the passage of time how much fun it was. Fisherman 120. I was indeed wrong. Tear it up lad,and send us the photos so we can all marvel at the fine job. Gods speed and may the wind always be at your back Steve
  11. Maineah. Just saw your reply above. How very true. People would bring furniture in feed bags or tied in a bundle with string and a lot of times half of it was missing. The first thing was always,"can you fix it". I hadn"t even looked at it but the answer was always a cheery"sure I can repair anything. How much money did you bring." After restoring antiques for 40 years I learned what you already know. Anything is possible with enough time and MONEY. If the answer is, my time isn"t worth anything I have few things I need help with. Fisherman 120 is the gain really worth all the pain? Steve
  12. Thanks Greg. I have only been on the computer for a couple of months .At 65 it all takes longer and bro. I mean everything takes longer. I wish I knew what you did about it. Yes your address is not a secret, but I knew of no other way to get ahold of you. Really feel that you and everyone who puts so much into this site should get all the help you deserve. Money is all I have to offer at this time, unless some can use my 40 yrs. of antique furniture refinishing. Thanks again. Steve. P.S, The check is in the mail and I hope John approves this message.
  13. Greg. Do you have a snail mail address? I"d like to help you keep this site up, because it is too valuable not to help. I waver between a Toyota and a road blimp because I plan to full time it and space is a concern. I know if I go the blimp way ,my wallet and I will be be sorry. I only have to answer to an old tom cat with a nasty attitude and if I pick the right day to tell him it"s a Toyota I"ll be able to take him but he"s darned tough. Maybe I"ll have my brother tell him. I don"t have a credit card since they always want more back than they loan and on time.Thier time ,never mine. Many thanks for the time you devote to this site. Steve.
  14. Just a random thought. Would it be possible to tie a soft piece of cloth to a flexible wood/welding rod, and coat it with light grease, bring the piston to top dead center and pull the chips out that way. Everyones thoughts would be most welcome since it may well happen to me. Steve
  15. Hi folks.Thank you for your information.I guess I knew what would be said but if I buy this M.H. there won,t be beer money left to celabrate.Didn,t plan retirement as well as I could have.Like Concyse and Nibs I live in B.C.near White Rock.B.C. means Bring Cash or British Columba.A case/24 of Bud is 40 bucks.Gas is just over 5 bucks 4Ltrs/3.78 U.S. Gal.Think Europe.California has more people than all of Canada.I called a lot of wreckers today and the only one who took more time than to say no and hang up thought it would cost 1.800 to 2.000 if he could get one. I will wait and buy a newer one. Thanks all Steve.
  16. But we sold the cows. They are still...........
